Anybody that still thinks this game is an Uncharted clone or anything close to that cannot be taken seriously. Anybody that still thinks that is simply biased against this game. There is no argument anyone could come up with to back that Uncharted clone crap up.

Got some more late breaking news. The venerable Adam Sessler got the chance to play Tomb Raider for 2 hrs, and here are his impressions of the game :)

And there's a new scavenger hunt you can play on your smart phone for a chance at different prizes.

I haven't seen anything recent on this game but during E3 it didn't look that great. A little too over exaggerated, and way too many QTEs. I wanna play a game, not press very particular buttons and watch a cutscene.

Did you watch the videos from IGN TR week (now in the OP)? The series showcased real live gameplay (not just the cinematic trailers E3 showed) and covers the varying game elements like tombs, exploration, puzzles, platforming & traversal, as well as the new levelling system.

I already planned a series of topical polls for different discussion themes. The hype poll was always set to begin in Feb, 5 weeks prior to game launch :)

Just revealed is a DLC offer from GAME which seems to be exclusively for the PS3 version of Tomb Raider.

* Challenge Tomb - An exclusive tomb for Lara to raid! In this new location, Lara will encounter all new environment puzzles that will test her abilities

* Fast Climb Upgrade - Early access to the fast climb skill upgrade will let Lara ascend mountain faces more quickly. Handy when avoiding her attackers in a fight to take the higher ground!

I'm still gonna go for the 360 version. I own every TR on it. DLC like that is always underwhelming anyway. Might also pick it up on PS3 if it's really good.freedomfreak

It's of course because this "poor man's uncharted" myth still persists that I made the poll :P

Just to clarify, Lara does get assaulted (seen in the Crossroads trailer, it's an integral moment to her character development, in how she learns to defend herself) but it's not an actual rape. So let's steer clear of that line of thinking, m'kay ;)

Tomb Raider and Uncharted are both legendary games that are separate to one another and are distinguishable.
It would be great to see them hook up.

I might get this game next year actually. I HATED the old Tomb Raider games, but this one looks very good. I like the new lara, she is realistic looking and strong, not made for lonely 14 year old boys to gawk over.

SOME of it's gameplay aspects look similar to Unchartd, it probably was inspired by some of it's elements. But that's ok with me, nothing wrong with borrowing an idea and improving it or making it your own. Besides Uncharted is the standard anyway.

Not much of fan of Uncharted-like games, but might check it out if it gets positive feedback. I would rather get a new Soul Reaver or Gex from Crystal Dynamics though... well all hope is not lost eh?
