Official Haze Discussion Thread - 6.0 ( Keep it Here!)

So, what's the verdict here?

Does Haze suck, or does Haze suck hard?

Based on the demo, I'm leaning towards "sucks hard".

I played the demo and it wasn't 4.5 material but it wan't even up to Resistance standards (a PS3 launch title).

The retail version must really suck hard to get a 4.5.........IGN usually rates PS3 games pretty fairly. It would be kind of ironic if GS scored it AA while IGN flopped it hard.

Haze 4.5 + Lair 4.5 = 9.0

I think Free Radical and Factor 5 were better when they were making Nintendo games, case in point Goldeneye 007 and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. Ever since they started working with Sony (in some capacity), things went downhill.

So yeah to recap, IGN gives it a 4.5, can GS possibly give it better? I'll predict a 6.0, I just have a hunch.

Just to all those saying don't trust the IGN review, I find them to be the best for PS3 reviews, for example...

• Rachet and Clank: FTD - 9.4
• Uncharted - 9.1
• Resistance 9.1
• Motorstorm 9.0
• Gran Turismo 5 Prolouge - 8.5

After playing the demo, I trust their review.

Its clear that IGN is full of lemmings and are completely biased towards the ps3. Just because this is a ps3 exclusive IGN gave it a low score.

The demo was Awesome and Haze is an amazing game. AAA quality

No one has played it yet, so, I'm reserving judgement on the full game, but, the demo was awful enough to get me to swap my pre-order for a different game. Thankfully, EB Games lets you switch pre-orders.Andrew_Xavier

Maybe they should be sold as a package deal for $60? It could be listed as the "best of PS3 flops" lol.

My guess is this is not giong to be a PS3 exclusive for very long.....they are going to dust off that X360 version very soon to recoup some of the money they are going to lose on this title.

Identical experience for me. I seriously played the demo, then the following day went and swapped my pre-order to another game. I might rent it...maybe...doubtful. Once June rolls around, too many games I want will start coming out, and it'll be lost without me ever having played the full game.

Seeing as how you're a 100% cow, it makes perfect sense that you want to play an exclusive regardless of how crap it is.

Haze seems like it could be okay but many just put too much faith in the title as one to compete with Halo 3 !

That kind of thing ( as I said before ) only sets up the game for almost certain failure in the comparison.

Though Haze I'm sure will be enjoyed by many PS3 owners - Halo's are not easily matched and many just continue to try.

You spend 60$ on the game, lie to yourself through all 7 hours of gameplay with cute mind numbing little phrases like "gee whiz this is wicked fun!" finish the game, come back to SW and tell us how underrated and awesome it is (despite the fact that you secretly hated it), and I'll save 60$ by not buying this piece of ****.

Folklore darnit! Poor Folklore, overlooked, underrated by gamespot, not played by near enough people and yet still fantastic...

From my experience with the demo, it is indeed a stinking pile, overflowing with maggots. However, I must say that the amount of bashing going on towards the PS3 as a result, far exceeds whatever/any hype that this game had. You guys are acting as if it is MGS4 that flopped here, lol.

Anyway, once someone throws some blood in the water, it is inevitable that the sharks will indeed start a feeding frenzy. Such is SW, I suppose. Dangerous waters we be in, ye matey.:P

Exactly. These people write reviews for these games because that's their job. Regular people like us don't have the time or money to try out these games just come into conclusion that the game is good or bad. These video game reviews are just like reviews for vehicles, restuarants, movies, resorts, etc., so it can give you a sense on what to expect.

Really, it could be anything. Kevin didn't seem like he enjoyed some of the dialogue, though. It seems like some of it can be rather offensive.
