he just bought 1080ti, there's no point buying this for gaming, it's not aimed for that, marginally faster than overclocked 1080ti

Man, 3 grand? $1,200 was doable before...guessing it must be because of all that HBM memory. Or because some people will still pay for it? GPUs with giant robot anime sounding names? I can get behind that. My wallet can't. *sob*

Edit: Xbox One X had a good run XD

@gtx021: That’s the beauty of PC gaming my friend. We don’t have to settle for half-assed mid gen upgrades that don’t even deliver what we want.

No, its cost is due to the addition of tensor cores for deep learning. For the performance offered, this card is a bargain compared to the Tesla V100.

I feel bad for the misinformed that inevitably buy this for gaming, my 1080ti single precision is only .5 tflops slower.

I wonder how many PC gamers are willing to pay that much for such hardware.

Its a Quadro.

No one is buying it for gaming. Volta gaming based GPU's will more or less me the same prices of what we have now with the addition of either GDDR6 or HMB2 for the higher tier cards.

Looking forward to the Ti for £750-800 next year... :D

I could buy a 7" Dynaflex chrome exhaust kit for my truck for that price. And it would sound better too.

@Gatygun: Yep.

We PC lot always take the piss for 30 FPS.

But also completely ridiculous what you have to pay for 30 more.

It's not for gaming, obviously.
