NPD Top 20 software sales for November.. no Uncharted 2.

WOW on a very serious note all i can say to this is WTF? this was a amazing game with tons of hype, amazing reviews and great advertising and its not even in the top 20.. to make matters worse for the PS3 both Halo 3 ODST and Borderlands are still in the top 20 and they even came out a month earlier than U2! Atleast God Of War collection is in the top 20 i suppose.

Its still most likely > 100k. Still though, it seems rather front loaded in NA. Well with shooters being a dime a dozen I suppose ppeople move on. It will still have some decent legs I guess though.

very dissapointing to say the least, and why are people comparing Forza 3 to Uncharted 2? I mean seems like a reach to compare a flagship game to a racing sim, oh well, times are tough.

No, prologue and MGS4 did not have any month in NPD where they sold 2 million units. They have sold 2 million units to date but not in 1 NPD. Most likely no PS3 game will do that.

The attach rate for PS3 gamers is disturbingly low, and yes its very disturbing that a great game like Uncharted 2 is selling so poorly. Yes it does. Mine is built off of assumption with some logical backing. Yours is just based off commonly spewed misconceptions about the 360 which I find funny. The idea that Uncharted 2 needs to be Gears to appeal to the Xbox fanbase is silly. Sure they're both assumptions but at the very least mine is found off of logic (bigger Userbase means more potential buyers and the 360 is beast at selling software in NA) compared to, "the userbase is too bias using facts I can't prove".

Now on a side note, Uncharted 2 has sold fine. Its a huge step up for a franchise. It went from under 200k launch in a busy season with the first release to half a million in a months period on the second. That is excellent and the type of growth publishers want out of solid IPs. Its not a system shifter but it still is something that I think persuades people they may want to go the PS route and that is a great feat for such a new IP.

Uncharted 2 was a GREAT rental. But IMO, it was nothing more than that. The single player campaign was great, but the online component was weak compared to games that generally give me at least a year of play time online (Halo, MW, GeOW). I am 100% confident that if I had bought UC2, I would have traded it in by now.

I gotta agree, people gotta buy those games, i for myself have bought every single PS3 Exclusive this year and even bought 2 copies of the MW2 version on ps3 no joke, 1 for myself and the other was my brother.. so thats 2 from me only but come on i cant do this alone seriously :(

Wow I'm really surprised at UC2 not being in the top 20. I saw it was not in the top 10 and thought that was kind of strange, but not in the top 20...wow.

I'm not trying to start anything here but the whole people buy the PS3 for the Blu-ray thing is starting to come back into my mind...hear me out. I have two friends who just bought two slims one in October, and one in early November. Both bought the PS3 Slim 120 and 1 game each, 1 UC2 and 1 Madden 10. The one who bought UC2 played it a couple of times and sold it to me (at a nice discount I must say :D). The one who bought Madden has played through it and sold it. Neither one has played a game on it since, that I know of. The responses I got when I've asked them about their lack of playing was that mainly they were looking for a Blu-ray player and it would have been like $200 so they figured they would get a PS3 and use it to play some games, but then lost interest. Neither is close to being a normal gamer.

Don't get me wrong I know other people that have bought PS3's and are playing them quite regularly, so of course the above 2 examples are not the norm, but if other people are doing the same it would explain alot. I really can't see how good games are not getting bought. I don't think people are doing like before and just buying a PS3 as a Blu-ray player because it is cheaper. However maybe some people are buying it figuring that by the time you put $200 into a good Blu-ray player, another $99 for a game system is not a bad deal.

BTW before fanboys riot and complain. I am in no way saying UC2 has not sold well, just that I am surprised that after only 1-1/2 months what I consider to be the PS3's best game is not selling well enough to be in the Top 20. Yeah I know NPD is North America only, but NA is the biggest gaming market. If it is not doing good here that's bad news.

One group of people get the game system and think of the blu-ray as a plus. (im in this group :))

The other group gets it for the media/blu ray player and think of the games as a plus.

most of the gaming is done on my Xbox360.

most of the multiplats I will get for the Xbox360 and chances are I will get MW2 for the Xbox360 instead of the PS3.

Th PS3's userbase is now what 27 million it's attach game ratio should be fairly high by now.

There has to be some properresearch or study that compares Xbox360 owners and PS3 owners- who buys and plays games more for their console.

But with that notion with PS3 owners buying movies more and Xbox360 owners buying more games wouldn't surprise me much at all.

It isn't gears of war, or halo. It is a fairly new franchise. It isn't going to put up numbers like those 2 games. Does anyone expect that a game selling 500k first month, is going to plummet and sell around 130k. I do. Sony will be happy if the game reaches 800k, and 1 million by march. It will be their first franchise to break a million in America which is GREAT for them. Most franchises don't get built in a day. Halo was a launch title and as a result got major hype. Gears of war came out as the premier game for xbox 360 when 2 other consoles were launching. And as a result got tons of hype and sales. Most games next year (mass effect, alan wake, heavy rain, MAG) would die for these sales.
