Now that the Steam Deck is out, and about, how many of you are getting one?

Nope. Only game at home.

I will get one but only when they are readily available. So it will be a while. I'm in no major rush to get one and upgrading my PC is a higher priority at the moment.

Looking forward to it. There are games i just prefer to play on a handheld and the PC has a boat load of them.

I don't think i will use it for high end games though. It's great that games like Doom and Control and all that can run on a Deck. But i will be using it for lighter games that are good fun in short bursts. F1 games will probably be the most demanding games i play on it.

I ordered mine about 10 mins behind today's drop. I think next week is my week...

The estimator says Monday 16th, but I dont think I will make Mondays drop. Im hopeful for Thursday the 19th instead.

Seems like a very cool system and while I think owning one would be nice realistically I don’t plan on getting one anytime soon. Got too many other things I want to get first.

I get mine delivered later today. Curious to try it out, plan on using it to play indies when I’m away from home

I want one but can’t afford it now. Living alone and paying for everything on my own isn’t easy. Nothing comes easy when you’re living by yourself.

Would like to experience ER on it, but its just too expensive. Have it pre ordered, and planning on selling the mofo.

Mine doesn't come till after October. Sucks to have to wait over a year. Ordered it in August.

Switch is already kinda big to be a hand-held, so I'll conider getting a deck-mini if they ever make one.

I pre-ordered one last year, but decided to cancel the pre-order a few months back because I really do not need it. Even a few months since the cancellation, I still do not see the point of owning one and I would rather save money for things of greater importance.

I'd like to prod one and maybe have a poke around inside. It's not really a device I need in my life TBH, but I bet I'd have a big grin on my stupid face, for a couple of hours, to see it run in little the things I'd only seen before in big.

Also, LOL at the twitter guy being impressed by Doom Eternal (a potato game) running at 60fps on it. He is also playing the Steam Deck with a PC right in front of him.

But anyway. I have a beast of a gaming PC so the Steam Deck isn't for me and it's for those who don't want a desktop.

I’ll be getting a Steam Deck 2, which considering how I had no interest in this device in the first place shows how good a job Valve is doing with this thing. I’ll let you early adopters beta test this thing first though, and by the time they make a sequel the hardware should be refined and proton mature compatibility-wise.

I was going to get one but put off by battery life so I'll pass.

Nah, if anything might consider a gaming laptop. But might not even do that and just upgrade for a 4 series card instead.

Definitely got one already and love it more every day. Not buying an Xbox series or ps5 because of it. May buy a second steam deck for my son.

I'm flying to France Italy and Switzerland this summer to hike... I'll be playing elden ring, maybe some God of War.... We'll see what I'm in the mood for. This device is my dream come true.

I am thinking of buying one now that my commutes to and from work are taking over an hour on most days now.

No. I don't mobile game enough to warrant the purchase and I already own a Switch for those needs. It's neat though, have to give it that much.

With the current inflation levels I'm not going to spend money on a fancy hand held pc console.

It looks sweet and all but right now it's a dumb purchase.

Some days I just really want a Steam Deck, and have no idea why. Guess I just like new gadgets. Got literally zero use for one. But it's cool, I want one dang it.

Feel like a kid going to the toy store telling his mom he really, really wants that one toy, but mom is like "no, you'll just play with it once and not care about it". Except I'm 34, and instead of mom, I tell myself.
