No one would care about Returnal if it were multiplat

Not saying it’s bad but a roguelike tps starring a 40-something woman with procedurally generated shit and questionable combat wouldn’t get a lot of talks were it a multiplat.

Returnal looks unique, you don't see 3rd person roguelike games that aren't low budget Steam shovelware. This game is a guaranteed 9/10. GUARANTEED. If you have trouble seeing its quality, then maybe you should play less AssCreeds and the like.

Don't forget the Metashitic user scores, unsolid used those for Ghost of Sashimi lol.

If there were any interesting games coming out noone would care about a game with a middle aged shrew as protagonist. All in all it looks forgetable.

@Juub1990: I don’t think many people care about it anyway. Generic gameplay, shoddy animation and very little that says “Next gen”.

I’d give it a go if it were on Gamepass, but I doubt its anything above average.

I don't know about that, I have no intentions of getting a PS5 until they release a slimmer version and I'm of the opinion Sony games often tend to be overrated and overhyped and I honestly think this game looks pretty great.

The developer has a good track record and the game seems like it plays to their strengths, while mixing some storytelling sections. I see nothing wrong with it, except for the price tag. It's hard to rationalize $70 on a procedurally generated game, that lacks the animation work, acting, level design, environmental detail, etc, etc, etc that goes into a truly AAA title. Although cows love flashing lights and particles and usually consider that kind of stuff as amazing graphics.

That being said, Sony knows their fanbase is starving so they'll try to get what they can before lowering the price.

Personally I wouldn’t play it even if I had a ps5, but that’s more about the fact that I hate playing shooting games with a controller, if it came to pc I would be all over it if scores good:)

I'd say the hype would be much BIGGER if the game was multiplat seeing as how both consoles are starved for some actual next gen games and it's hard to get hyped for a game on one system that nobody can get.. I think a rogue like procedurally generated shooter with horror elements builds more hype for me than say, online FPS #35 or GaaS loot shooter #6, but that's just me.

To be fair, it looks alright. Prometheus meets Groundhog Day. Decent potential. Does deserve some attention.

Though I kind of think the first half year + COVID games drought is more of a factor for increased attention here than exclusivity.

I actually somewhat agree with @Juub1990 & @i_p_daily on the notion of most cows around the internet are probably hyping it only because it's exclusive. Historically, they've done that all the time. I really don't think most of them even gave a crap about Housemarque's previous shooters anyway. Lol

Personally, I have enjoyed most of their little shooters in the past; and this is their first time with a "bigger budget" so to speak.., but still doing what they are good at. So I would still want it if was multiplat.

However, I'll just repost what I said about this game 20 days ago:

It's one of the few PS5 games that looks interesting imo. Housemarque makes good rougelite shooters (resogun, stardust, etc), so Im sure it will be good on that front.)

However, this doesn't make me want an actual PS5 any sooner or whatever.

On the flipside, I can see this probably selling well due to it being a gaming drought of actual "PS5 games". So theres that. Probably a good thing that its coming out so soon, I think it would've gotten overlooked in the future.

Nex Machina is sick. This game also looks sick. Only concern is whether or not it will mix the enemies so you have to worry about overlapping projectiles. But if it delivers that, then we got a kino tps game all about moving around enemy fire, which is a breath of fresh air after the parade of hitscan focused games this genre has been all about.

Some people seem to be trying really hard to hate on this game because it's not multiplat. Some of you are actively hating it for some odd reason.

Returnal looks like the most solid VIDEO GAME to come out under the Playstation belt in a long time, and that's saying something cause Sony does 98% movie games these days.

It's growing on me. But I want to see more of it.

Nah, looks fun and definitely better than 97.6% of all Sony movie games though the price tag is laughable and pretty sure cows won't by it. They only play buy non-games and are only hyping it because it's exclusive (for now).

Forgot to give my thoughts on the topic. *No one would care about Returnal if it were multiplat* I personally would.Returnal has that Metroid Prime vibe going for and the thought of it could come to other platforms such as PC never came to my mind and if it did come to PC, it sure as hell wouldn't cost $70 that's for damn sure since that's really happening on PS5 console it seems.

And The Order: 1886 but in all fairness, I don't call them movie games, cinematic driven games is the word. David Cage is a hit or a miss but I personally enjoy Heavy Rain & Detroit.

Honestly I'd care a lot more if it was $30 and not a PS5 exclusive.

I love a good roguelite game loop, but there are just so many good games in that space already.

It would have to be p-fucking-g to get me to spend $70 to play it at 60 fps or less.

Listen this game looks great for sure, a sci-fi rouge-like with some slick mobility is in my wheel house. Hating on this game because its an exclusive is just as silly as those over-hyping it for the same reasons. I just dont think its a reason to go out to get a new system. When I finally get the PS5 with better cooling solutions... I will scoop up Returnal.

However if this was a 3rd party multiplat, I would be even more interested. IT would likely be a day 1 gamepass and I would check it out a launch. As it stands now its a wait and see.
