I said it when Xbox did it... I'm saying it now. What's the point of buying the console if you can play the same games everywhere?

If everyone stopped buying Playstation consoles, would SONY continue to release all the same games on PC and XB?
Who knows. Maybe.
After all, they still release their films in cinemas and on disc, and they still publish music on their record labels. All that in spite of the fact that they have little to no hardware to sell for either medium.
Nah, just a precautionary measure to avoid confusion. Looks like they've looked at the HZD Steam pre-order numbers and decided there's a future for that kind of thing. Doesn't mean Spider-Man: Miles Morales, or every Sony game, will come to PC - yet.
Sony are still very much in the "testing the waters" stage here.
Seeing these companies putting their games on both their consoles and PC does not bother me at all and does not persuade me to do my gaming on PC. I very much prefer to do my gaming on consoles and will continue to do so regardless of the game’s “exclusivity” status.
I think all games should be playable on all platforms that are capable of running them and I think that is a good thing. I think exclusives are a bad thing and should go away in the future and then people can just play whatever they like on whatever platform they like as long as it can handle the games.

Why buy a Nintendo? To play Nintendo IPs.
Why buy a Playstation? To play Playstation IPs as well as great third party games.
I currently have both to have access to both libraries. If Nintendo released their games on Playstation, I would not own a Switch. Thus... connecting the dots here for ya... exclusive games sell consoles.
@Telekill: Thats not whats being discussed here. We're talking about 1st party console games being released on pc...which I don't care about because those games are still available on console.
No reason for it to even exist anymore when almost all 3rd party games that uses the trademark "Only on Playstation" ended up on PC or other consoles and Sony themselves been PC friendly lately. I personally against this as I always loved collecting the "Only on Playstation" collectors edition but eh, my console overlord has changed in recent years.
Why is it that video games are released on different formats (discs or cartridges), but films and music are both released on a unified format (Blu-Ray for films and CDs for music)?

Not even MS have gone beyond Cuphead for Switch, and they've since said not to expect their games to appear on other platforms....nope, we are talking about console's games on pc only.
I've never bothered caring about games going to PC i game on consoles so it's never mattered. Sony won't release exclusives on PC day on day so it doesn't matter.
I'd be pretty stoked if Sony put all their games on PC
I'll give it a couple years before buying a PS5 just in case
It would be the greatest. I wouldn't worry about buying PS5 right away and then getting burned after. You can always sell it after if the games ended up coming to PC.
