@SolidGame_basic: It will appeal to a certain audience, but jrpgs do nothing for me.... I can't take a game with Higgeldy heroes seriously....

@SolidGame_basic: Maybe it's the artwork, or the dialogue - I've just always thought that manga was irritating. Whether it's a movie or a video game, I just think it's awful.

Whether it's the glassy eyed pupils, or the spiky haired heroes, I don't know. I just cant stand jrpgs full stop. I know they have a diehard audience, and people enjoy them as much as I enjoy other games, but you asked if it was a day one purchase, and it's not. For me.

I'm not hype, but I am looking forward to playing Ni No Kuni 2 on PC day one. Enjoy the first game on PS3 years ago, this is gonna be fun :)

Then you need to play something else besides Ni No Kuni 2 and there are other good JRPG anyways.

@davillain-: My problem lies with JRPGs, not Ni No Kuni 2. Can't stand them whatever the platform theyre on .... but again, I understand why people love them.

Fair enough. Not like I was mad at you for not liking JRPG.

Idk, the first one didnt impress me that much. The world is interesting and lovely, but the combat didn't tickle my fancy at all

I wish more people were like this, JRPG's are my favourite genre, but I also understand why some people might not enjoy them. It's refreshing to see someone open-minded, someone who can understand the appeal of something even if it doesn't appeal to them.

I was hyped for the first game however ultimately came away from it disappointed. Found the story pretty dull and the combat kind of so-so. I’ll be in no rush to pick this up when I get a PS4 and will most likely just pass on it entirely.

@n64dd: oh man, I couldn't say. So many people LOVE Ni No Kuni. I'm not the HUGEST JRPG fan, so my reaction to the first should be taken with that grain of salt.

I loved the first game, and the NNK2 looks good. But for some reason I'm not hyped. I love anime, I love JRPG, I love Ni no Kuni, but for some reason I'm not hyped for the game. What's wrong with me? ):

Well they ditched the combat of the first for a more "Tales of..." style combat. Since you are supposed to create a kingdom there is also some basic strategy-Rock-Paper-Scissor battles between armies.

Loved the first game, but the gameplay video videos I have seen for this haven’t blown me away to be honest! Will definitely get it at some point unless it bombs in the reviews...

The game was originally designed to run 1080/30fps on consoles only. When I saw the system requirements recommended PC, it'll be running ultra settings 60fps. 60fps is a must and besides, I want to support more and more JRPG games into Steam and let Japanese developers know PC gamers are welcoming more JRPG games.

Giving I don't own a Pro and just the Vanilla version, PC will be the logical choice in the matter.

@xantufrog: I’ll play it if they have improved the party AI significantly. Or at least allow better control. The idiotic party AI was one of the few things I hated about the first game.

No familiar, no interest. That was easily my favorite thing about the first one. I guess I'm in the minority in this. Plus the chibi style for the world map or castle is off putting. I hate chibi style.

In film & animation circles, Studio Ghibli is highly respected, with Hayao Miyazaki in particular often considered a modern-day Walt Disney. Their films are often geared more towards younger audiences (much like Disney & Pixar), but are well-made enough for older audiences to enjoy. And there are some Ghibli films geared more towards older audiences (like the World War II masterpiece Grave of the Fireflies). You might want to try out a few Ghibli films before trying Ni no Kuni, since its main target audience are Ghibli fans.

Idid enjoy the first one but something is off in this one... The voice acting is quite bad, I hope it will be better in the final version and well, I'm not into strategy game and building stuff.

It looks like they didn't want any of the previous caracter to be in this one and to also remove all familiar.

It feels like the only thing that continue from the first one is the fact that Studio Ghibli is behind it.

I just cannot get into the Pikmin in this game. It seems really off. (was not a fan of Pikmin either, so maybe that explains it a bit.)
