i was gonna buy a neo geo system back in the day for 600 bucks. but i seen the games were200-300 each and controllers were 250 each:shock:
The VRX 4 Racing Simulator at a whopping 25,000 bucks. Granted it comes with a lot of crap but I'm sure if someone where to hand build this thing it would cost way under 25,000.
The wireless adapter is extremely overpriced considering it requires not only the adapter itself but also a router. I also found the price for the wireless xbox headset to be way too expensive for such a low quality item.
These. Especially the wireless mic, you might as well just get a turtle x11.The wireless adapter is extremely overpriced considering it requires not only the adapter itself but also a router. I also found the price for the wireless xbox headset to be way too expensive for such a low quality item.

MS prices thier HDD's according to market price of gold- or atleast that's how it feels. other than that is the Wi- Fi, thank god MS put it standard on the new 360's. OH Just realize it. MS Xbox USB's /end thread. good God 70$ for a 16Gb USB? mayceV
actually, there're priced exactly the same as the SanDisk USB counterpart without the Xbox name brand. I was at Best Buy 2 weeks ago and noticed they were the same.
their Wifi would be the worst. but I built myself a ethernet cable for $2, I doubt I could play online without lagging out on Wifi anyway.:P
360 Hard drives and the wifi adapter. The hard drive's are worse though, because there's really no way around using them. Like Halo 3, doesn't seem to care that I have two 16GB flash drives, more than enough space for any films Halo 3 would ever have. But I can't save them, I need a hard drive. 4GB of internal memory isn't enough? For films? 32GB isn't enough? I mean for wireless, you could buy a wireless bridge. Still not cheap, by any means, but its an alternative.Skittles_McGee
yeah, there's ways around with the wireless bridge as well as the HDD.
I still say the wifi is priced worse. you can't find ANYTHING comparable. I know the exact Western Digital model they use in their HDD, and current prices in comparison aren't TOO bad.
but there is absolutely nothing with as much of a gap as the Wifi adapter.
you left out the ps2 hdd which was $100 and worked with 2 games. In you long gaming history which are the most expensive overpriced hardware accessories

Definetely gaming keyboards. How can a device that's already flawed for gaming, get categorized as gaming class. And with an over priced tag to boot.
Xbox Live :P The wii balance board is pretty overpriced, thing is still damn near 80-100 most places..

Gaming keyboards are awesome.
The only accessory that actually bothered me due to them being essential to using the system they were made for were PS1/2 and GC Memory Cards.

Gaming-branded anything peripherals. Nearly everything targetted at gamers has a gaming "tax" to it, hiking the price up considerably.
360 wireless adapter has the trophy I think. It was so expensive and not very good. I think unfortunately the 360 really suffers from poor design choices but credit to microsoft for still making it a huge success.
Personally my worst purchase was £130 Razor something headset. It was emulated 7.1 which made it great for games (I was thrown out of a clan because they thought I was hacking on counterstrike because I could literally follow them through walls just by sound), but because it was USB and Razor it had "power issues" so every so often my microphone would drop out so I would have to un-plug and re-plug back in. Finally I tried the powered USB trick and that killed the headset completely. I wasnt impressed.
Everything 360, dont get me wrong there some great games but seriously when the 360 came out, and still now the prices is crazy, Xbox live, wireless connector, hard drive, HD DVD drive, they are the biggest rip off ever, we all may argue which is the better console 360 and ps3 but I think we can all agree that the ps3 got it right straight from the get go with already built in requirements from the get go.
Honestly, WiiU controllers.
It just came out so nothings really gone wrong yet but Nintendo has to do something about the cost because in a few years when controllers start wearing down and more and more accidents happen...you can't ask people to drop a crazy amount of money to replace it
You can say its a tablet, so its ok, but its really not. The system is useless without it. And with so many working parts I have no clue what Nintendo expects people to do if one of the sticks break, or a button comes loose, or the screen starts getting dead pixels. So on. People are gonna have to wait weeks for repairs? Be weeks without a system because just some wear and tear took out part of the controller? Thats unacceptable. Has the potential to be worse than RROD because we don't know how Nintendo will handle warrenties
Controller is flawed for gaming. You have to take your thumb off the stick to reload. With KB+M a can accurately jump while turning and reload at the same time. Controllers don't allow that.Definetely gaming keyboards. How can a device that's already flawed for gaming, get categorized as gaming class. And with an over priced tag to boot.

360's $100 20gb hard drives, and the $100 Wifi adapter.
Vita's memory cards are up there too, but even then they aren't as bad as what MS was charging for memory. 32gb memory card for $100 > 20gb hard drive for $100...both are still overpriced though.
the wii nunchuck- i read somewhere it cost less then $2 to make
controllers in general are way over priced ths gen. the dualshock 2 was $25, the ds3 is $55. the $360 controller which still uses AAs is $50. the wiimote plus nunchuck = $60
oh and ofcourse 360 wifi adaptor. the DS, MADE BY NINTENDO, released in 2004 for $150 had wifi for gods sake.
Now don't get me wrong, this suka was wicked sick but @ 200 bucks and only used for one game :o
If only SB:HA nixed the Kinect functionality and instead went with this controller. :D
Anyhoo, some have said Wii U and for now, I'll just go with that. :P
