Molyneux - Gamers are bored. Need more than Call of Duty

Only thing that matters is the current gen. I could care less what you did in the past. If your games are trash now you are as much of a trash developer as the rest of the trash. Infact, I think you are even worse because the other trash never dissapointed me.

You left out the part where Molyneux prescribes the cure for the common CoD.

I was bored. That's why I switched to PC gaming. More than just first person shooters, racing, and sports.

There are plenty of different games out there. They may not sell, but let's face it, all the gaming media gives all their attention to the same old games in the same old genres all the time. Here at GS, an indie or less popular game may get a mention, or a preview. A blockbuster shooter, however, gets multiple previews, a 3-page glowing review, and ads plastered all over the site. If there was a shift in coverage and advertising, perhaps there'd be a shift in sales, and what's popular.

I totally agree with this guy. I've been saying it for years about being bored of gaming. Some of my friends don't get it, maybe I'm at a higher intellect, or maybe we just see things different (I prefer the former :cool: ) but the same formula with very little difference is not cool to me.

This guy should really have his own team and do his own work.

Not a fan of the Fable series but at least Molyneux doesn't do the same thing over and over, he innovates.

He's right, as usual, he's a pretty smart guy. I genuinely like Peter Molyneux, he's a nice guy, he's just way too excitable and over-ambitious, and it leads to his games not leading up to the massive expectations he creates for it. If one day he can actually get the time to execute on all that stuff, holy crap it would be a good game. Until then its just peter being peter :P

I wish I could beleive Molyneux, but I can't. The guy simply lies too much.

But I'm not bored, far from it! Mass Effect3 has launched and I'm excited about RE Operation Raccoon City and The Last of Us and AC3, I'm not anywhere close to being bored.

I have gotten kinda bored of COD though, I want the series to change a bit.

Denial of either side is just as bad as the other.

Gamers are to blame, but to blame only them is naive. Devs, pubilshers, and major marketing are just as much to blame, if not more so, than the gamers.

I don't think he means to single out Call of Duty, but rather the genre.

Either way, this is funny coming from this guy.

There's nothing preventing people from trying any of the other 50+ genres that's on every system.
