“Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball Players Association, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and San Diego Studio jointly announced today that they have entered into multi-year extensions to continue development and distribution of MLB: The Show, the award-winning officially licensed video game. In addition, the historic expansion of the long-standing partnerships will bring MLB: The Show, for the first time ever, to additional console platforms beyond PlayStation platforms as early as 2021. Complete details will be announced at a later date.“

Announcement clearly says other consoles. Interesting. Everything changes.

So the MLB wants more money from the game and are forcing the game to go multiplat, what's interesting is that Sony signed on to continue making the game. Cows lost another exclusive which is the funniest part lol.

As for me well I don't really care about Baseball, pretty much like the rest of the world.

This actually make sense there is not competition for MLB so putting on switch and xbox should make sony a ton of cash in the process.

Even though I dont play this series anymore, I'm happy it has a chance to be successful and live on.

I mostly enjoy The Show. It's been treading water a bit the last few years, but I like that other people who aren't PS users will have a chance at a quality baseball game.

I loved the series 10 years ago.

It’s still the best baseball game by default but it’s baseball lol.

I am fine with 1 baseball game a gen.

Sony said months ago that some multiplayer games may go multiplat. I personally think they should have let the license expire and allowed Sony Sandiego try something other then a baseball game.

I was thinking of getting it on the Switch, but then I remember baseball cost me my PSP and Vita... so no, I'm not getting it for the Switch. Baseball can go to hell.

Yeah, I had the same thought. If licensed MLB games were lucrative, someone — Ubi? Activision? EA? — would have jumped in when 2K gave up its 3rd-party exclusivity deal.

My hunch is MLB/PA is cutting the licensing fee it's charging Sony to make it worthwhile to make these new versions.

I believe 2K got the MLB deal in response to the EA/NFL deal. Originally 2K and EA wanted an Exclusive deal with the NBA but were turned down.

And yeah Baseball is not as popular as football,. basketball and soccer. EA brought back the Live series but not MVP.

Well the sales of the franchise is stagnant they really need to expand. That said the recent ps+ free MLB19 was quite grreat!

I was rooting for a reboot.

MLB The Show 07(PS2) was the 1st I got.

Since then I got 09/10 for ps3 and 16/17/19 for PS4. (19 from ps+)

The game overall hasn't changed much which is understandable.

I would like to see something different for the PS5 era. If it doesn't work, they can always go back to the current formula.
