Microsoft Announcing New Xbox at CES; (We will talk about the next Xbox)

Microsoft has always announced something Xbox related at CES, and the heavy rumor this time is that they will come out and unveil the next Xbox this time at CES at their keynote presentation, in exactly two hours from now.

But why would they announce a games console at a general electronics show? Why not hold it back till E3, which isa games related event?

Because if recent rumors are to be believed, the next Xbox isn't a games machine... it's the living room equivalent of a tablet, a full fledged multimedia box that also incidentally does games, by the way.

In two hours, we shall know for sure. Microsoft's presentation is at 6.30pm PT, 8.30PM CT and 9.30PM ET.

While it's perfectly likely that the next Xbox will be announced at an off-E3 event...this is not happening. You know why? Because no one gives a f**k about CES anymore, especially not anyone in the games press.

I was actually thinking about the CPU and RAM memory, seeing as how both the PS3 and 360 should have had 1GB RAM imo

as for two GPU's yeah, that's not feasible

An announcement now means it's coming this year or early next. It typically means that they have started to reach out to 3rd party publishers.

I think it's too early for that, nobody wants to develop a supposed PS4/Xbox3 game right now when there's money to be made on 360/PS3/PC/WiiU multiplats.

So what could MS offer 1st party wise? They just put several teams on Kinect and Halo 4 is coming for 360. The way I see it nextbox will release in late 2013.

Developers will play the hand that the console manufacturers deal them, so MS doesn't really have to worry about the future.
