Poll Metro vs Bioshock trilogy. Which is better trilogy? (64 votes)

Metro 20%
Bioshock 80%

Hello friends,

Both games have similarities and both games are fall under trilogies so which is better of 2?

Metro

No Caption Provided

vs

Bioshock

No Caption Provided

I personally found Bioshock to be worst FPS trilogy (well until wolfenstein 3 release) as original bioshock was incredibly overrated and poor mans system shock 2 and infinite imo is one of the worst AAA FPS of all time. so Metro by default is better.

Metro have flaws and problems like having bad AI and not so good shooting but its story and atmosphere is far above. all 3 Metro games have been fantastic and having pros and cons among them.

so friends lets vote and discuss which is better of 2?

I'll take Bioshock because it doesn't have that morality system. By far, the worst part about the Metro games.

Metro has better gunplay, awesome weapon design and better graphics. Bioshock is better at everything else.

so what left is story that is subjective?

Metro series offer much better story imo.

The story in Metro is a mess. In 2033 it was fine, but ever since LastLight, its pretty bad. Add in the shitty dialogue and $5 voice acting, and we get Metro story.

And no, story is not what's left. Atmosphere is better (in Bioshock 1 and 2, not 3), enemies design is better, music is better, the setting is better, plasmids system adds to the gameplay, exploration is better (even tho Exodus does this very well too), and i'm sure that i've missed some things.

I've played the first Bioshock & the first Metro game, and from that Bioshock was better.

BioShock. Ignoring Infinite since it's pure crap.

Really enjoyed BioShock 1&2. Enjoyed Metro 2033, but Last Light was pretty meh, and Exodus was just bleh.

Unlike Metro, BioShock is more than just a scarier CoD.

Exodus is barely COD.

huge semi sandbox, customize weapons, tons of exploration, 25 hour long.

Bioshock 1 even the twist was copy and paste from System shock 2. it was System shock for babies. and i agree infinite suck.

I completed all of the Bioshock games, I can't say the same for Metro. Got to play all three for free and it consistently was not interesting enough to hold my attention. The last entry was so cutscene heavy and the gunplay boring that I couldn't even bother continuing. If I want to enjoy playing a game Bioshock trilogy is where its at.

Bioshock 2 and Metro Last Light might be the two most underrated games I've ever played.

Metro's best game is Last Light. 2033 is janky and the third game Exodus is just downright boring with a semi open world that is empty also the combat in the Metro games overall are not that great never found them satisfying. As for the Bioshock series it has better atmosphere easily and they always have a good story with a twist at the end. Infinite combat is better then previous Bioshock titles the guns not only look better but sound better they have more impact with them but still not that good. In conclusion both series are decent but Bioshock is better overall.

2033 has best atmosphere talking about original version but it does have gameplay problems as it was thier first game. it was incredibly underrated game but yeah last light did improved upon gameplay mechanics.

beside bioshock twist was predictable. they just copy and paste from system shock 2.

This is the real twist im talking about

Metro is pretty to look at outside of its character models which resemble clay dolls.

Aside from that it’s a dreadfully boring series. Bioshock takes it.

Metro1 - Meh, Metro2 - Great, Metro3 - don't know yet.

So overall, Bioshock for me.

Definitely Bioshock for me. Played all three and loved them. Only played a bit of one of the Metro games and I just didn’t really care for it enough to keep going.

Both series are fantastic, both have amazing atmosphere and story. But I do feel that Bioshock is the greatest single game of them all when put you look at all games of the series together. It has a better story, better art direction and superior depth and systems as an RPG lite. (combo-ing plasmids and ammo types etc) So I'll give the edge to Bioshock, it was one of the best games of that gen and was an instant classic.

Metro cause i prefer its atmosphere and gameplay. AI has issues but the sneaking around the atmospheric environments was great fun. Exodus is super underrated around here IMO and is my favorite game in the trilogy (barely edges out Last Light). I don't get the hate for it at all.

Bioshock series had some memorable settings and story moments but the combat was generally bland, especially in the first game.

both good series though, and I hope we see more like them.

Playing Exodus right about now, and i too do not see the hate anymore. I originally tried it on the ps4 back when it was first released, and i couldn't be bothered after two or so hours. On pc on Ranger Hardcore it feels like a proper Fallout game we never got from Bethesda.

Every single Bioshock game is better than any Metro game, all of them combined in fact. And none of them manage to induce the lethargy and 'give no fucks' feeling of Exodus so yeah, Bioshock totally destroys everything and anything Metro.

Any other questions?

I'd have to go with Bioshock, though I haven't played the second, and I thought Infinite was pretty bad. The Metro games are boring, and the combat is clunky and not fun. I played through 2033 on the easiest difficulty just so I could breeze through it and appreciate the visuals and atmosphere. It is a damn good looking game.

Bioshock has pretty bad combat too, and it's far from being the best "immersive sim" (I know people hate that term), but Rapture is such an interesting place to explore, and the art direction in that game is pretty incredible.

Bioshock 1/2 and Minerva's Den are all so much better then the Metro series combine. Bioshock 3 was crap and if I had to pin both Bioshock 3 vs Metro Exodus, Exodus is at least better then Bioshock 3 but this isn't saying much.

The entire Metro trilogy is a 7/10 franchise. Not a single 8+/10 among them.

Bioshock & Bioshock Infinite are two of the best games ever made, easily 9.6-9.7/10 and top 50 all time greats.

Bioshock 2 is decent.

@Litchie: Bioshock Infinite was the best one by far. The only reason its MC score is lower is because it came out 6 years after the first and was as 'innovative'. Infinite releasing in 2007 would dominate.

I don't care about MC score. Infinite is seriously one of the worse games I've ever played. Doubt I'd like it in 2007 either. Ken Levine should be ashamed, and I'm worried about his next project.

I remember not liking how Bioshock played, or Bioshock 2. But, maybe a lot of disagreements with it are because that game has no real death penalty, so you kind of just ignore shit and don't really use your options with any intentionality. Which is something that I don't let bother me as much now, so long as it gives me room to do stuff.

I remember really liking the idea of Ranger mode in 2033 enough to finish it, and digging it in Last Light, but now I think its a cuter gimmick than it is some gateway to any sort of rich gameplay. Like Metro's still a basic as hell FPS game.

So neither of them are good, play multiplayer FPS instead, the best thing about the genre.
