Metro Last Light - Weather/Lighting king

A new video series went up on the game today as a sort of "how to survive as a ranger" thing and while the narration in the video is fvcking terrible the visuals are insane. Especially later in the video when some of the weather effects are shown and the lighting is in full swing. Some gifs of it in case you're lazy :P

I take it back it. This game has monsters. Lookeda like your standard shooter at first.

someone didnt play the last metro :cool:

it is actually a great game of survival with amazing atmosphere, anyone who hasnt tried should, the only con, it will melt your pc.

A big problem with Metro 2033 is the lack of a full set of options. It had a few options like Dx11 effects, low,medium and high or AA methods. The real meat of configuration was absent. They said they're still working on PC options thought right now, so hopefully we get access to much more to tweak it how we want

Looks incredible, as expected. so what's the deal with ranger mode? It disables the HUD, among other things, but it's available as some kind of DLC or something? Will you be able to turn off the HUD in the regular game?

Ranger mode is total BS to be honest. It's included in pre-orders but if you don't pre-order you need to pay for it as DLC after :? 

I'm not sure of the specifics of it but you could almost guess the usual lower health, harder enemies, less ammo, no HUD etc.

I'd say the HUD could be toggled, if not maybe a mod of config tweak will allow it

It's a decent game at best with some minor and major problems that, together, make for an uneven trek through the underground (and above ground) dystopia of the Metro.

Hmm... Because I really want to play this game with no HUD. Even the minimal one in 2033 was more than a game like Metro needs. I know I'm gonna want to get it anyway.. If there's even a chance in hell that my laptop can run it at least as well as it runs 2033, I might go ahead and preorder.

Best looking game of 2013 by a long way, probably one of the best games of 2013 gameplay wise too, loved Metro 2033 :)

Metro 2033 was rough around the edges in terms of its gameplay mechanics, but the story and atmosphere made up for it. I can't wait for Last Light.

I can't wait to play Last Light. 2033 looked absolutely tremendous in 3D, and I just hope I'll be able to run the new one at a decent clip. Can't wait to see the improvements to stealth and gunplay.
