14 million this year, meanwhile Switch still on pace to sell 24 million with shortages.

PS5's lifetime sales are probably going to be under PS4's and Switch will blow by them by 2022 in half the time.

The PS5 hasn't fallen behind the PS4 launch aligned just yet. You can look at Sony's own financial reports and see that statement is false.

But, yeah, they don't keep up with the the PS4 this fall. They'd need to sell like 6M+ units this quarter and that's just not happening.

They happily announced 18 million GP subs, I'm sure they'd be over joyed to announce 20 millions console sales in 1 year. That would be a new record I think, so I'm sure MS didn't get that update yet.

Amazing how people compare a dock-able handheld (switch) to home console (ps, xbox) sales. Two different shopping methods, price range, and markets.

I can't show you any official numbers because MS hasn't released any. We will have to wait to find out when MS releases them. All that they officially announced is that is continues to outsell all previous Xbox consoles. BTW, ZHUGE is panned left and right. Has been banned from forums numerous times and was caught lying, including lying about Xbox being done investing in Xbox any longer. He's a douche and nobody trust him anymore.

Hopefully they announce their numbers soon, I agree! I too look forward to getting their official numbers out there. Until then, we will just have to go with random internet numbers instead of official!

Yes, many games are on all three platforms, but the switch audiences and the ps5 audiences aren’t really the same.

MS doesn't release sales numbers and hasn't for years ( which you know already), luckily the industry has adapted and has highly respected insiders like Daniel that can give us the information without need of MS, Sony, or Nintendo releasing it. Surely if such a large figure in the industry was spreading misinformation MS or otherwise would have put the kibosh on him already.

Unfortunately, ZHUGE isn't a respected insider. He has been found to lie, have bias, and has been banned from gaming sites on numerous occasions. That is why he is not used as a source by any reputable media. Nobody will put the kibosh on him because there are thousands of other analyst wannabe's out there spreading misinformation as well, and they are alive and kicking.

But at least we agree, we have no official numbers until MS announces them.

@Pedro: I say they're different for a couple reasons.

I have 3 switches in my house hold because they're good traveling systems. Me and the kids enjoy them when at the airport or a doctor's appointment or what ever. I assume I'm not the only family that has multiple switches for those reasons. Some cultures like Japan, prefer handheld/mobile for various lifestyle reasons.

Switch lite, which can't even be docked (it's a handheld), is only 200 bucks. its sales are also include in switch lifetime sales. So its priced lower like traditional handheld.

I never see the ds or 3ds sales compared to xbox or playstation. They have their own handheld sales comparison charts usually. Like the the psp and vita could be played on TV, that doesn't make them home consoles. The steam deck can be docked like the switch yet it will be treated like a handheld.

Idk, it feels weird comparing a dock-able handheld to dedicated home consoles. Switch should try and dethrone Nintendo's own handheld king (DS) But this is system wars so the battle will rage on.

Now Sony is just gonna get even more lazier.
