It only requires 250gbs if you're planning on playing on ultra settings. Which looks like it requires a i9 and 3080. Console will probably be closer to the 175gb mark, which is still a lot.

There is something wrong with gaming systems if an accessory costs more than a third of a system's price.

PS5 and Xbox Series S maybe. But Xbox Series X has a good amount of free storage.

I still play CoD. Particularly, Modern Warfare. I'm passing on Black Ops. If any of you play Modern Warfare, I'm sure you've noticed the ridiculous amount of $20 bullet tracer packs that they've been pushing. Activision is a bunch of clowns but if you guys can ignore the majority of it (i'm guilty of buying a couple), it's still a fun game.

1TB is not enough for next-gen. People will have to juggle installs or spend a lot on expensive storage. This is the reality. They fucked the peasants as soon as they decided to go NVMe for next-gen. You have to pay for quality.

250 gigs? **** that noise. What in the hell does a generic FPS title have in it that uses a quarter of a terabyte?

It would be if people would quit demanding and getting hyped for 4K bullcrap that isn't going to make an ounce of difference to the gaming experience. But because they go for that hype they want the bigger textures, even 8K in many instances. It's a shame that people demanding that which is a big cause for jacking up storage capacity is interfering with PC gaming as well if we decide to play any games marketed on console as well.

That's for all game modes; multiplayer is 50GBs. You can very just uninstall the single-player once you're done with it.

Re storage: 1TB isn't going to be nearly enough for next gen but, you should be able to store games on your external HDD and then transfer it into the console once you're ready to play it.

some third party never compress there data very well as other developers. no reason to be this big for a call of duty game.

activision compression sucks. always have. sony and xbox needs to step in and show them how to compress data better I think.

Good thing I have no desire to play this anymore. It already was a hard sell with the campaign looking even more on rails Jerry Bruckheimer spectacle, $70 and confusing cross gen ownership support. But the PS5 exclusive Sony zombies onslaught mode sealed the deal. It's actually relieving now because I don't have to waste energy deciding whether to get it or not. Then I see stuff like this and just reaffirms I made right decision.

Anyhow, weren't these new systems supposed to allow users to select SP only content or MP only content to install?

My planned storage solution is to keep a larger and cheaper HDD plugged in and my games can play musical chairs.

You'll be fine if you have an SSD, because it makes 250GB look like 25MB. SSD is such amazing technology.

Of course it makes sense. SSD is literally magic. It makes colors sharper, AI better, allows your CPU to run faster. In the future, computers will be nothing but an SSD with USB connectors for your mouse and keyboard.

Looks as though I'll go with the external SSD and transfer between games not interested in COD cold war any way COD is a pass every year until it gets a steep price drop.

People told me console gaming was cheap, but after I buy the 500 dollar console, 200 dollar SSD expansion, an online subsctiption and a single 80 dollar game I'm all out of money.

@Archangel3371: the Smart Delivery thing is probably busted for this game. How could it be that big without Zombie Mode. Its not just a simple mode either its a staple mode for CoD for years.

@sakaixx: That doesn’t really make sense though. If the Xbox One version is smaller then the PS4 because of the extra Zombie mode then why is the PS5 version smaller then the Xbox Series X|S version. It too has the extra mode. Also it wouldn’t surprise me if they already had that mode included in all the versions with a simple patch to unlock the Xbox versions later on.

@Archangel3371: the mode is gonna be exclusive to PS for a year and CoD has been doing compartment install for sometimes now. If you only need multiplayer modes or only warzone its less files to download.

@sakaixx: Umm, ok. That’s still not explaining why Xbox One is smaller then PS4 but PS5 is smaller then Xbox Series X|S. You said games were always larger on the Xbox platform and I kind of doubt that.
