Master Cheif Collection vs The Orange Box

Which was the better deal for their time?

• Orange Box with 5 games which included Half Life 2 and Episodes, Teams Fortress 2 and Portal.

OR

• The Master chief Collection with Halo1,2,3,ODST and Halo 4 all with new cut scenes 4k HDR at 60fps.

I put 500 hours into TF2 so i got my monies worth out of that alone.

Most definitely The Master Chief Collection for me. I like any game from it more then any particular game from the Orange Box but I would also say that there was just a whole lot more content in there as well.

MCC by a light-year or three. :P

The Orange Box is packed with multiple masterpieces.

Halo currently has none.

I freaking loved Team Fortress before it became a microtransaction/lootbox heaven

I also loved Half Life as well before Valve became hungry for microtransaction/lootbox games

Can't forget Portal either, what an amazing, but so shortlived franchise

Halo is not very good series but better than many of todays overrated franchise.

As much as I enjoy Master Chief Collection back then, The Orange Box is the clear winner here. Team Fortress 2, HL2, & Portal are all totally the purchase over MCC.

Orange Box for variety, but that might be slightly biased since I've only played the first Halo.

You surprised? Uninspired is part of "teh master race", who looks down upon 'consolized' versions of "their genres" from FPS (Halo, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark), RPG's (modern Elder Scrolls circa Oblivion) and strategy games (Pikmin, Nintendo Wars).

Portal alone is better than any Halo.

Half-life easily the intro to that game still holds up

More polished, refined, streamlined and accessible? I'd rather that than to struggle with the controllers and archaic/bad design decisions like we did back in the day.

Halo MCC for me, but I've sunk hundreds of hours into that game.

Portal is still a GOAT though- a game I wish I could re-live for the first time again.

I can play both so there is no versus for me. :P

For their time? 100% the Orange Box. MCC is a bunch of remakes of very good games, sure, but Orange Box contained several hours of brand new content and launched the very important and influential Portal and TF2. Also MCC had broken ass multiplayer at launch so it was a pretty underwhelming release.

Why aim when you can cheat with a mouse.

I would prefer that too.

Orange box is one of the best releases ever. Halo is... Halo. OB wins with ease.

@Bread_or_Decide: Can't turn aim assist off in Halo. In fact you can't turn it off in any of the popular console MP shooters. Its even in stuff like Fortnite on console, can't switch it off. Why aim when you can cheat with aim assist?

Tough call, but I’d give the edge to MCC for its depth and replayability of its online game. Plus the entire content has been enhanced on the Xbox One and further enhanced on the X1X.

But you should definitely get both collections for some of the best titles in gaming history. And both collections can be played on any Xbox One!

Halo wins easily because they are actually great games.

Half Life series is insanely overrated because it had a dumb gravity gun gimmick, and some guys who walked/talked to continue the story. Whoopty freaking do. The actual games are BORING and the story blows. The gunplay in half life is just BAD.

Team Fortress blows. LOL cartoon shooter.

Portal is some meme game. No one actually likes it. They just like the cake song.

Master chief collection an epic collection now it's fixed.

Its E-Sport scene is no existent and its no longer a big player, even turning the franchise into an MMO with endless possibilities failed it because of its limited nature.

Peasants is banter, dont get hung up on it. Controllers are just shit for shooters, so you end up with slow paced drival like Halo being praised for accommodating this limitation.

Fair enough. I disagree though. H1-3 were fantastic games imo. And for what it's worth I loved HL1&2 as well.

Meh, Half-Life is overrated as hell, I own Master Chief Collection and it's my favorite Xbox One exclusive cause I totally miss out the halo games on both Xbox and Xbox 360.

Both are pretty awesome.
