Oh snap! Time flies! I remember when Wind Waker first came out for the GameCube. The cell shaded graphics were a big deal. It was a drastic departure for the franchise. Other than that, I found the game to be a bit obtuse. It wasn’t until the HD remaster came that I tried it again and beat it. But I still found it obtuse. I would say it’s a middle of the road Zelda for me. How about you, SW? Where does it rank amongst your favorite Zelda games?

Probably middle of the pack for me but the Zelda franchise is so fantastic that even then I consider it to be a great game.

Not gonna lie, when they first showed this game I was one of those Zelda fans who was very disappointed in the art style. Going from OOT and MM to this was a huge let down. But once I played it, it was still a true Zelda game and the art style grew on me. Definitely one of the best Zelda games.

That would be cool. I wish Nintendo would just bring everything over to the e-shop. Doubt that will ever happen haha.

Some of the best dungeons in the series, and by far the best setting.

One of the few games that I can still clearly recall the ending 20 years later. Great game.

Second to last or last. I don't know whether I dislike WW or BotW more.

Really love Wind Waker, along with BotW one of my favourite games ever and among the few Zeldas I enjoy.

Played WW during a particular bad moment in life and it's one of my dearest memories in gaming. Getting home, smoking a J and getting lost in that chill world was fantastic. Would buy a remake! Shame on me!

Magical soundtrack too.

Loved sailing the big blue in Celda. ;)

Since I didn't buy the GC back in the day, (though my son did) it was by far the best game I played on my Wii via BC. :P

For some reason I can imagine you making a paper boat and letting it sail in your tub when you were a kid.

Oh heck yeah, also sailing popsicle stick boats down the street on the side of the curb on stormy days. Building forts and go-carts as well. My childhood pals and I were the last of the real-world little rascals.

We didn't have no stinkin vidja games back then...

lol :P

2nd favorite story behind MM

Dungeons I would say are pretty low. All other 2D and 3D Zeldas I would say have better dungeons except MM and BotW.

Favorite soundtrack of any Zelda game.

I really loved the sailing. I know I'm in the minority on that

Characters are great.

Outset and Windfall Islands are two of my favorite locations in all of Zelda franchise.

Putting on that Dragon Roost Island theme once in a while is mandatory.

But yeah, one of my favorite videogame soundtracks.

Can't play em all! When that game came out I was in the midst of my first year in my career. Very few games got priority over that in 2002. I was hoping the switch got some kind of port, but alas. At some point I'll play it.

I really liked the game. I remember people ridiculed Windwaker when it came out, and it took like a year or so before people agreed it was a good game.

My one friend pre-ordered, got his Ocarina of Time/Master Quest disc, then cancelled his pre-order for Windwaker. He ended up buying it anyway later on.

I felt a little cheated when the the Collector's Edition came out a while after with Majora's Mask and OoT.

I am probably one of the few people who used the GBA connectivity with Windwaker.
