Listen, we all know what will be GOTY this year so why even bother holding the competition?

Red Dead Redemption 2 will obviously take the prize. Since we all know GOTY. Why even hold the contest?

Plus Xbox One will probably have exclusive content revealed at E3 by rockstar.

I agree that Red Dead Redemption will probably be GOTY this year, but the PS4 is the one getting exclusive content.

• Red Dead Redemption 2's exclusivity contract is with Sony, not Microsoft
• It will probably not release this year

Everyone is entitled to their own Game of the Year. If RDR2 does release this year, I'm sure millions will cherish it as their GoTY.

RDR 2 will delay and it will be another overrated game from rockstar. I like old west setting so i put it over GTA. but still its rockstar game. it can be boring.

GOTY will be PREY.

This isn't the oscars where they pick an absurd film noone has heard of each year. This is GOTY. It will either be Zelda or RDR2. I hope RDR2. Zelda wins too much of these things.

Yeah, if RDR2 releases this year it probably will snatch up a ton of goty awards, maybe even here on GS.

But I still expect Zelda to sweep it up this year. Even mediocre Zelda games can pull it off, but something as great as BotW? It's on.

The original Red Dead Redemption had mediocre gameplay (auto-aim made shooting incredibly tedious, but playing without it was clunky) and a terrible story (the last few minutes were fine, but that's overlooking the first 30 hours of pointless fetch quests).

If they haven't made huge improvements for RDR2, then I hope it doesn't win GOTY.

It would be boring if Zelda won, lets be honest that series already has its fair share of GOTY awards. RDR2 would be kind of a boring GOTY as well, GTA5 and RDR1 got enough recognition for being good. I'd give it to Persona 5 so far. Possibly Destiny 2 if Bungie makes a complete turn around and learn from their mistakes.
