Just read the brief reviews by the four reviewers, not look at the scores.
As much as I want this game, I will not reward Sega for their scumbaggery. I think they are taking infinite wealth literally.
Another to add to the back burner for a later date... let me know when it hits $30, I still need to go back and beat the first one.
@Mozelleple112: Nah, the game is fantastic so far. Nothing mediocre about it, besides the shitty DLC practices (which might be a Sega thing?).

While that's great news for Yakuza, a perfect score from Famitsu doesn't really mean much nowadays. It used to mean something 20 years ago when Famitsu were known for being very harsh critics... even Chrono Trigger only scored 34/40. But after Famitsu went soft and started handing out perfect scores like candy, they've lost a lot of credibility.
Gamespot's reviewer is stupid
The main story is excellent, and outside a trip to Dondoko Island, it doesn't meander.
The game is a classic and one of the best recent JRPGs ever.
@Jag85: lol this game has heart
Notice this quest had a huge emotional heart. Its brilliance is too much for Gamespot's reviewer.
The rest of the JRPG genre needs to take notes.
Infinite wealth looks my kind of game until you come to the jrpg combat. I just couldnt get past the combat in the last one.
@robert_sparkes: The combat is better in this one. It's a lot faster, characters don't just stand around in a circle, and attacks tend to throw enemies into walls/eachother/more attacks.
But sure, if you can't stand JRPG combat then this probably won't change your mind.

Meanwhile, I love how they had the balls to design a game where you can force your Pokemon to work the farms on your Animal Crossing island. Dondoko Island wasn't a minigame I expected in a Yakuza sequel, but I ended up spending 10-15 hours on that alone.
I finally finished this one, after about 80 hours in total (I didn't 100% everythjng).
Wow. Absolutely brilliant game, and an easy 9/10. I mean...okay, Bryce and the Palekana plotline was awful and completely pointless, but the rest of it was outstanding.
I've lifted my media blackout and I'm shocked to see people disliked the ending. In my mind, LAD and Infinite Wealth have the two best endings of any JRPG I can think of.
Anyway, fantastic game. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes JRPGs or games with stories.
Anyone played this on deck how is the experience? I saw its verified but after playing kiwami 2 on deck, im not sure if i want to play newer yakuza on deck anymore.

Because its substance over style, that doesn't fit with gaming culture.
The last scene with Eiji was brilliant.
Bryce is basically the big foil for Akane and Lani. The thing is IW has three main antagonists.
