its far more than just the exchange difference, there is $100 in it somewhere. vista cost exactly the same as in america on a direct exchange but consoles cost lots more

and tell me why pc components cost almost the same as in america on a direct exchange using the cheapes prices in both? Because PC parts are more widely available. MS, Sony and Nintendo all probably 1-3 (at most) factories making their consoles, and you can bet they are all located in Japan/China/Taiwan or other locales in Southeast Asia. Because they ship so many to NA they don't incur the same shipping penalties as they do shipping to places like Europe and Australia/NZ. PC parts are manufactured all over the world so they are easier to ship and there is more competition. Basic economics.

Ok, here are the facts. X360 = $660nz PS3 = $1200nz Thats almost double the price for an inferior product. Now explain to me why I wouldnt want to buy an X360 over anything else? More for less, and better quality too.
Well considering the loss a lot of people are going to take rebuying a 360 to get the new one and the $200 Hd-DVD drive and $100 Wifi...... many of you zealots will have payed $900+ and still will complain about PS3's cost.

The price of the PS3 is ridculous... Stop with the 360 + add-ons plz. pretty please with sugar on top. Its annoying now. I like choice I would like a PS3 but I am not willing to pay that coz it gives out bad messages too Sony for next time (PS4) Same with the new 360 if it doesnt drop prices of old 360 and replace price point now for new black 360. I think its a rip-off. But the basic 360 is a nice price, little expensive. But the best deal out there better than Wii in my eyes...(wheres my glasses?) lol
