I agree that Xbox 360 puts out some excellent graphics, and we've only seen the tip of the iceburg. I think the problem lies in the fact that we've become spoiled with the idea of always getting a huge leap in graphics from one console generation to the next, and now that the leap isn't quite as huge, people are disappointed. It's a shame.
It doesnt change the fact that the XBox360 launch is lame.SER69uhhhh no but the fact that a lot of the good games were delayed does :P plus if you take the average of all the scores xbox 360 did better than ps2 and xbox gamecube beat it though. and this thread mainly goes out to people who say the xbox 360 aint next gen. Also ill admit that is a pretty bad pic of timespliters its just the onliy one that i thought looked like the medal of honor pic in terms of size and what was going on.

I don't agree, PDZ, Kameo, PGR3, COD2 and Condemmed are all really great games.
Thats the most games I have ever wanted that came out with the launch of a console, sure thats only 1 AAA but it's more Solid games all together.
Edit... Add to that DOA4 even though it's not really a launch title.
This thread is retarded. I can give you way better examples than that.
Soul Blade (PS1)
Soul Calibur (Dreamcast launch title)
Metal Gear Solid (PS1)
Shenmue (Dreamcast)
Super Mario 64 (N64 launch title)
Sonic Adventure (Dreamcast launch title)
The jump between the PS1/N64 graphics and Dreamcast was HUGE. There's no getting around it. You are a deceptive con-man and I have exposed you!

So is the Jump from a Dreamcast launch screen to an Xbox 360 launch screen, Infact i'd say it was bigger.

One problem with comparing Xbox 360 screens with screens from other consoles is the fact that the games on Xbox 360 are high-definition. I think a lot of people confuse "sharper looking" with "better looking".
for those of you saying that the xbox 360 launch games are horrible (in terms of graphical power look at this comparison of ps1 game medal of honor and timespliters (a ps2 launch game)
Medal of honor
ok now a ps2 launch game timespliters
if you ask me the gun looks better in the medal of honor shot.
now here are some xbox to xbox360 comparisons.
now for the same game but for the xbox 360
well id say there is a much bigger jump in these two games than in the other two. And we all know how games look much better as the console gets older. Now that i think about it i dont know why i went to ign for these pics when i am posting in here lol.
bob_nope_none
haha, thats big of you, comparing 1 gen to another :P
I played timeplitters a few weeks ago and it does not look like that, that looks like doom 2. Timesplitters had crappy graphics, but it was good fun.
tekkenlaw
Yeah Timesplitters had better graphics than that.... NOOB!
It doesnt change the fact that the XBox360 launch is lame.SER69A couple of 360 launch games looked a hell of a lot better than the PS3 launch games. Project Gotham 2, for example. It blew me away because the locals looked as if they were lit with GI (I'm not sure if anyone not educated in Maya knows what that is, exactly).
