finally got around to playing this game and the graphics are great. for $400, can we really complain about the PS4's graphical capabilities? it's a launch title too
Yup. Great game. Ragged on by many here, cause the mechanics aren't for casuals like your typical CoD, Halo and Battlefield.
Weight, recoil, lack of aim assist, muzzle flash, and team based objectives...all things the casual shooter fans here on sw despise cause they are...Well...casual players.
Yeh really good looking game. It does the details and atmosphere really well, really good facial animation too. Overall better than Ryse which was marred by stuff like seeing AI standing there waiting for their cue to enter the gameplay space and some iffy fire effects and such.
Game wasn't great though overall imo. Gameplay and level design made a major improvement with some nicely challenging stealth segments but it doesn't make sense to me that the very best level and powers is the very last one. You could build a really solid stealth shooter out of the gameplay from that level.
The story was a bit meh and typical(we saw the whole idea that the Helghast had a super weapon before and Stahl coming back to life was a bit of cliche). The interesting relationship between Keller and Maya never developed in the slightest and the moral stuff around the story was really forced and typical. AI was prone to brainfarts. David Harewood was great though as Sinclair.
Some levels, predominately the outdoor levels, look pretty impressive but it's nothing PC gamers haven't seen before. Some character models look weird and like plastic, and the lip syncing can look pretty poor for a game that came out in late 2013 (especially when Half Life 2 and the Source Engine nailed it in 2004). I don't have an Xbox One so haven't had the chance to play Ryse, but in my opinion Battlefield 4 is the best looking console game out there right now.
After having finally got my hands on it and playing it myself I agree that it's very pretty. There's some low res stuff in there and when you move it can get a bit fuzzy but overall it's very nice
Sadly I've only played about an hour of it because it's so damn boring.

None of this maters tho because Infamous Second Son takes a dump on KZSF and Ryse all in an open world environment. when it releases it will be the best looking next gen game hands down which is crazy considering It is a game which scales the entire city of Seattle.

Name one thing killzone does better than any other game. Well, let me make it easy for you name one technical thing Crapzone: Shadow fail does that Crysis 2 from 2011 didn't do 100x better. I dare you.
As a matter of fact, last I checked the industry agreed on that even freakin Ryse looks better than Crapzone: Shadow Fail. PC Games lie a level ahead than it.

Last I checked KVO in his review said that Crapzone: Shadow Fail failed to achieve what Crysis 2 did while on being last gen consoles. What a shame GG and Crysis 2 was never good to begin with.

All of which begs the question: could these new consoles run Crysis 3? Ryse delivers the full suite of CryEngine features with excellent image quality and it's still just a launch title. Given the experience of working on such a product, we have little doubt that Crytek could produce a Crysis Trilogy of sorts for next-generation consoles with few compromises - and yes, we want it. Given the quality of the developer's work on Xbox One, we would love to see what it could do with PlayStation 4 in the future as well. However, despite all the technological finery on offer, the limited and repetitive gameplay make Ryse difficult to actually recommend as a prospective purchase. That said, if you really want a taste of what we can expect from the next generation of consoles, Ryse towers over the rest.

Artstyle of Ryse is very nice though.
Who cares what random Sony drones think. Industry has spoken and it's ot in Crapzone's favor. So much for the game being Crysis 3 killer. And by the way, Crapzone: Shadow's Fails' MP is even less than 900p and the Order 1886 which also runs like slideshow is 800p. I know it's 1920x800 but that only make it have 6.7% more pixels than Ryse.
Do you want the facts about graphics? PS4 fans are butthurt that There system doesn't have the best graphics. Ryse graphics are untouched and unmatched.
You will have a lot of cows claim KZSF is some how better. But the fact is......
IGN, euro gamer, game trailer, rev3gaming, Adam Sessler, tech gamer, digital foundry, Machinima all proclaim Ryse as having BY FAR the best graphics of next gen consoles.
Gamespot, the site we are all posting on is on record as saying "of all next gen titles, Ryse by far has the best visuals. It's not even close. Killzone Shadow Fall looks good, but Ryse is incredible in the graphics department."
When that video was posted I thought all the PS4 users were gonna commit suicide. They were in serious damage control and raging. After a few days denial set in and they all went back to proclaiming KZ as having the best graphics. Until you post them the facts. Then they resort to one image from a beta build as if that means anything. Graphically Ryse is superior. In every way visually.
