Killzone 4 Launching on Playstation 4 Releasing 2013!!!

Next-Gen Killzone is a Playstation 4 Launch Window Title

Killzone 4 will release later this year on Sony's next-generation PlayStation, an industry source has told VideoGamer.com.

The unannounced game, which our source claims is currently in development at Guerrilla Games, could be revealed during PlayStation Meeting on February 20, where Sony is expected to unveil Playstation 4.

Sony has tended to announce new games in Guerrilla's shooter series alongside its hardware reveals.

The platform holder released a trailer for Killzone 2 during the announcement of PlayStation 3 - something which was later criticised for being a "target render" rather than a true example of the console's capabilities.

It also confirmed that a Killzone title was in development for PlayStation Vita at the time of the handheld's announcement.

Our source's comments suggest that Killzone 4 could be a launch window title for the unannounced hardware, which is rumoured to go on sale by the end of 2013.

Guerrilla Games' latest release was Killzone 3, which released on PlayStation 3 in 2011. In addition to Killzone 4, the developer is known to be working on a new IP.

SCEE declined to comment when contacted by VideoGamer.com.

Well that's disappointing. I was hoping for something new from Guerrilla Games, I have absolutely no interest in Killzone, such a boring series, and as generic as FPS games come. If this ends up as there main launch title, I'll be passing on PS4 at launch.

hhhhhmmmmmm if true I am interested, because I know Guerrilla Games can push the graphic capablities a bit. So we will get a early idea of what PS4 can do. Well not really, won't see the true power until 4 years from now when devs make a few games. Should blow anything we have on current consoles out of the water though.

Lets hope it's better than the last one.

I don't care much for FPS, but Sony needs a Killer exclusive FPS multiplayer game to at least compete with Halo since casuals love these types of games. May as well try to perfect Killzone instead starting from scratch. With new tech it might be great.

If it's true then it's nothing people haven't speculated already themselves. With the announcement of the PS4 in 2 weeks it will likely launch this year and an Uncharted or Killzone were likely to be on it from the start.

Sadly Killzone is a bit poor, the story is really dismal and the gameplay is sluggish and laggy. But at least it would look very very pretty

casuals only play call of duty as for other FPS' the casuals don't have enough skill.

Lems are still pretty butthurt from getting killzowned back with Killzone 2, it even won Multiplayer of the year over Halo had incredible reviews all around, was graphics king.

They've been working on a new IP for a long time, thats probably what its going to be.

I really hope it ends up being a new IP and not another Killzone. I feel like Guerrilla Games has talent that is somewhat limited by the trappings of the Killzone franchise (IMO).JMR09

Guerilla has multiple teams, they could continue Killzone and make new IPs at the same time.

Killzone series is awesome IMO (save for the first). The universe is great and the visuals on PS4 (in-game) will be CGI worthy. Awesome day indeed!!

Poor mans Halo, that's all Killzone is. Sony are going to have to do better than that if they wish to stay relevant.

I seriously hope there will also be a Call of Duty game on the PS4 alongside the PS3 version OR the PS4 being able to play PS3 games.. once i get a PS4 i dont think i'll go to PS3 anymore
