Yeah, it has a lot better character models and animations. I'd put the environments about equal. Gears of War still to this day looks better than both games, though.

I would say it is on par with gears. But lets not forget that both have very different artistic styles. What I thinlk works very well for uncharted and often makes a game's graphics look wow is animation.Having good animation is more of a lbour of love than any technical achievement of the hardware.

As far as I can see, uncharted has good hdr, good textures and bump mapping, not the best water effects I've seen, the peoples faces look very smooth in contrast to say marcus fenix's face and the overall level size is comparable to gears.

The technical differences between the two games is animation. The rest is which artistic design you prefer.

Animation is on a whole different level. Drake has tons of moves, like each time you takecover is a different position + the trees and grass animate which makes the world look alive. gears is like a fake sterile place where nonthing moves.

I hope not, Kameo overuses normal mapping and bright colors to get the look it has and even then it begins to blurr things about ten feet out, Uncharted blows it away.

Mass Effect backgrounds are a complete wack job, and this is coming from a lemming. Great character detail, but they also looks kinda like plasticine. Gears is old news, Unreal 3 FTW.

I have both games and Uncharted looks better.

ME has very unnatural animations compared to Uncharted, worse textures, bad framerate, way more jaggies and not even a bit as sharp and clean picture as Uncharted.

The enivronments in ME may be big but they are very empty and simple, i find AC graphics better then ME, but Uncharted is easily the best looking console game, the sharpnes, details and animations in this game are amazing.
