Look Again. The PS3 version loks considerably Blurrier.

im surprised more games dont use blur it works great if used right. i use it all the time in photoshop to make some things looks better it should work great to hide jaggismurat8

everything looks smoother on ps3 in motion because of the blur, thats why ign and gamespy and a whole bunch of other sites gave the nod to ps3 over 360 in the visual department, not based of screen shots where the blur they use does it no justice until you see everything in motion

The reviewer at IGN needs to get his eyes checked because he turned out to be wrong.

He even said that he tjhought the PS3 version had better AA. The next day it was revealed that the PS3 version was 640p, ZERO AA and they use a Blur Buffer to compensate.

I'll take 720p with 2X AA over that Any day.

You don't even need to look to reviews for a few sentences of comparison. There are Lengthly Comparisons that have been made.

This one is 6 Pages Long and compares eveything. You don't need to "trust" some random reviewer, they have provided screens and even a comparison video. you only need to trust your own eyes.

Gametrailers has also made a Comparison vid where the 360 version is clarly the better looking of the two. And what is really ironic about this vid is that it shows more Pop In from the PS3 version. Infact there's one Really Bad bit of Pop In at 2:40 - 2:46

The Ps3 version os GTA IV does NOT run natively in 720p. The game is rendered at 640p and then Upscaled to 720p.

This is not a Rumor or a Guess. It's a FACT.

OR you could just take a Look at any of these comparison pictures. The PS3 version is CLEARLY Lower Res.

Why does the 360 screen have more grass? And why does the 360 have more different shadows in that^ pic?

And here I was whining to myself about how I would be getting the inferior version (360), but I guess I'm not :D

the problems is that all the ps3 owners decided that their version was best before it was even released (this happens a lot). We were all told how inferior the 360 version was and we 360 owners just kinda accepted we may have "lost" this one.

Then we started playing and, admist the cries of ps3 owners saying the game kept freezing or bricking their system, we began to realise that our version seemed pretty damn good.

Then the real comparisons began (now available all over google) and it became clear that the 360 version actuallylooked better. Add to the fact that the ps3 version runs at a lower res with no AA - even with a HD install - it's no wonder 360 owners are asking "WHERE IS TEH POWER OF TEH CELL??"

The only advantage the ps3 version has is that there is less pop-in - which is nice i guess. Oh, and you can grab a bite to eat whilst you wait for the system to unfreeze for the 28th time.

gametrailers have a high rez comparison of the two systems and the 360 version easily looks best. Interestingly, i think in their comparison a WHOLE building pops out of nowhere... on the PS3 version...

I wonder whatwould happen if the ps3 tried to run the game like the 360 does - off the disk at a true HD res with AA. I imagine you would be left with a slideshow on the ps3

dude... search google for gta 4 comparison. you will quickly find a comparison video and you can look for yourself. R* said it was in 720p ages ago - things change during development. The ps3 system upscales the image to that res, but the native output is less. This is what R* will prob try and focus on.
