Is Xbox's 2022 one of the worst years in gaming for a console?

No, not by a long shot. There have been a number of systems that have had far worse years. Don’t know the exact years off hand but I’m sure the following systems, and probably more, had worse years:

- Virtual Boy

- 3DO

- Atari Jaguar

- Dreamcast

I remember ghost hyping it as the best since mid 2000's. oof

I would say PS 2021 was worse.

Maybe Forza? But we're about to get ANOTHER gen loaded with Forza games from Xbox and not a lot else. I'm still in the mindset that MS is on cruise control until next gen

Best to wait for MS/Bethesda before we all jump to conclusions rather Xbox Series is the worst 2022. No vote for me on this as I'm a PC gamer despite owning Series S but that's for playing older games on it.

I'll wait for June 12 before deciding. I'm sure they'll move something in their places

It isn't yet, but it will be this Fall. They're adding rabbit ears for $5 in their mtx shop, too. Nothing excites me more than wearing some ears in a Halo game.

They'll still show these games. Or at least they better since they said it's first half 2023. If they show nothing, then these games aren't coming in 2023.

We are still waiting on the multiplayer factions that they had originally promised, but said the scope was so big that they delayed it. Maybe this year?

I think the only new title I've played this year was Tunic. Which was difficult but terrific. It's on game pass too for those interested.

We'll have to wait and see, but Xbox One and WiiU both had some pretty bad 1st party years in recent memory.

I thought they were spinning Factions of into its own standalone game.

It was supposed be in TLOU2, but they said it exceeded their scope. They said they were delaying it and would hear more later. So we are still waiting.

Well, we got two big releases at the tail end of 2021. But we've got some great meaty 3rd party games to start out the year, Dying Light 2 and Elden Ring. But Game Pass also keeps me pretty busy. Finally dipped my toes in Tunic and loving it. Lately I have been stuck playing two games that suck up most my time, my friend got me into GTA Online and that's a huge time drain and now that I have income momentum since I acquired Agency I have been grinding away at security contacts and the Dr Dre missions to get the cool toys. Also, Aliens Fireteam Elite was added to Game Pass late last year, I bought it at release but the addition to Game Pass has given a big bump in active players, and new updates keep bringing back players. I have put so many hours into that game and can't stop playing it.

Sure it's not a big year for first party releases yet but more time to enjoy other things and attack my backlist. Hopefully WH40K: Darktide doesn't get pushed back any more. Looking forward to Scorn too. Deathloop should hit Xbox/PC Game Pass later this summer. Plus who knows what else makes this year's releases, I imagine much will be shown at MS/Bethesda event next month.

I haven't even played horizon yet or finished Elden Ring. GT 7, project triangle, tons of switch games this year. You guys are mad lads without helicopter pads.

There is a (supposedly) huge Xbox event coming next month. Guess we will find out.

They are going to show off Bugsnax, Deathloop, Ghostwire Tokyo, Kena, MLB the Show, Godfall and that's about it.

Gaming in general has been in a drought since the covid excuse, I think it will start to get back on track next year. We know that both MS and SONY have a lot in the pipeline and several studios on both sides have to be getting close to having things to show.

listen man, 2021 was one of the greatest gaming years for all of gaming history with 3 monster games from MS. MSFS20, FH5 and Halo infinite. Those are 3 juggernauts.

The last two or so years before the X came out, i thought nothing was on the system because they were waiting for their next systems, but here we're, years later and there's literally nothing but an incredibly messy first person shooter that nobody takes seriously. What is Microsoft thinking? No wonder Sony does stupid shit when they have no competition.

If we're just looking at 1st party, its pretty bad. But XBox still has good 3rd party support. It's not like late gen Nintendo consoles when there wasn't much anything at all.
