Yeah, found it boring as hell. Some of the most unsatisfying shooting I've experienced in a shooter, really repetitve, and I got pretty tired of the glory kills. I couldn't motivate myself to finish it.

I don't have the Switch version. I have the XBONE version. FYI: I have more than just Nintendo systems. Hell, I've been playing more XBONE (Crimson Skies) and PC (Morrowind) at the moment.

If there are games that are overrated, it's the 10/10 ones. There's not a single game out there that deserves a 10/10.

I personally think Super Mario Brothers 3 for the NES deserves a 10/10 :D

I think DOOM is an excellent game though I have not finished it yet I am certainly enjoying it so far.

Not me. The closest would be The Legend of Zelda. But, even it would be a 9.5/10 to me.

Its only modern game that is in my top 5 games of all time. amazing game.

Only thing I really missed in the game was reloading. I think reloading is more realistic and more tactical.

That's the only feature that Doom 3 did better.

Apart from that DOOM is an amazing game from a gameplay, audio and visual standpoint. It's a must play and one of the best games I've ever played.

Bought that game on a hunch, never regretted it.

I have played like every major FPS. from 90s one, to 00s one to late 00s one.

and i think if we discount hybrids like System shock and Deus Ex. theres only 2 games that are better than DOOM. one is Half life and other is STALKER. HL2 shows its age so DOOM today play better.

STALKER is unmatched and its hard to top it.

Not really but I sure loooove Doom 2016 Campaign, one of the best Campaign shooters I played in a very long time. I gotta admit, Doom 2016 on PC was so optimize, it runs smooth like butter.

No, and I liked it way more than I did the latest Wolfenstein which got a lot more praise. If anything, latest Doom had a lot working against it at first because of the hate it got during the MP beta. Campaign was solid though, though lots of people refused to take notice because, again, the MP beta. Thankfully saner minds prevailed.

More of her? No thanks. She's already one too many SJWs in the game. I don't see the point of a female lead either because it's not like we can see her unless we look down and see a pair of boobs/cleavage. ;)

It's fun for a bit then it gets very stuck in a boring formula that it does over and over and poorly.

You go to a place that requires a key that is not being guided to, instead the game prompts you to go to that door.

Of course looking at map solves the issue but this just isn't the kind of game to play sober so those ruin the appeal.

No, it's much better than I thought it would be. It's a real pleasant surprise. Maybe it stretched on a little long, but that's about it. It's the best way to interpret Doom in the modern era of AAA gaming I think. If you love shooters, it should at least be tried.

LOL Doom slayer don't even talk, hell you don't even get to see DoomSlayer. What good is his gender would be in context of a game like DOOM where you shoot things from First Person perspective. They could make Doomslayer goat, rabbit, duck for all I care as long as the gameplay is fun.

No because it's good, but I got extremely tired of the routine. I'd put it in with the Dynasty Warrior games for repetition and millions love those games.

Fans often get carried away and claim that it's pure gameplay no cinematic bullshit.

And then there're 5 minute stretches of talking heads and every argent pickup is a 10-second animation.

And every first time weapon pickup is another 10 seconds.

i remember many people judge Doom based on MP beta. when its infact a different game but they were like herp derp game will suck because its MP suck.

Yeah, slightly. It gets a lot of praise for being a good throwback to good FPS games of old. But the old games did it better. So yeah, it's a bit overrated.

Love the game though, and that they almost understood what made the old ones good.

Some things I didn't like:
Game is built to have "arenas" with enemies. All enemies spawn at the same time in a small space, kill them > go to the next small space and repeat.
Demon designs suck.
Game isn't even remotely scary. I can still get scared by DOOM 1 & 2 ffs.
Upgrade system. Not needed in a DOOM game, and is just annoying when you want to replay it.
Glory kills. Guess they had to cater to casuals somehow..

Compare that to your average PlayStation game, and cinematics in DOOM is pretty much nonexistant though.

Not only is Doom 2016 the best blend of new and old school fps out there but it is legitimately one of the best fps games out there PERIOD!!

Half life 2 was far more casual and easy than DOOM. I replayed it on hard recenlty and i barely died. and game has easy puzzles. but many PC gamers praise it as holy grail of hardcore gaming.

Doom glory kills are like mortal kombat finish him. you have to shoot a demon before perform glory kill. its not like you just press button without shooting.

I have played every single major FPS from Doom 1/2, to quake 2, to half life to RTCW, to HL2, to FEAR to Stalker to Crysis to Metro. even games i hate like battlefield and COD i played them too.

DOOM is easily top 5 best games i have ever played.
