According to a developer, it is more powerful than the 360. According to apple it's 3 times more powerful than tegra 3. PROOF graphics don't make a system.

Actually they do, i wont touch a Vita now, not when i can have 10x better visuals and resolution and bigger screen and battery life
That doesn't even make sense. So you'll choose a system that's not dedicated to gaming vs one that is dedicated, because a few games (very few) will have better graphics? Enjoy your HD angry birds. Note: I like angry birds.Actually they do, i wont touch a Vita now, not when i can have 10x better visuals and resolution and bigger screen and battery life

why does resolution seem to matter now?
From what I've read it's using the same gpu found on the vita. So I don't know how that makes it more powerful than the 360/ps3... hell even the vita. lbjkurono23It's using an A5X cpu which is probably overclocked to a higher speed than the vita. The gpu is, probably overclocked as well.

With retina display and better hardware. Not interested in the iPad 3, it's just an iPad 2 with 5MP camera.

Well, with Apple's way of screwing with custommers ignorance, the logic must be,
''We have a super high resolution display, more than what PSVita and the X360 do right now, therefore, the Ipad3 is MUCH more powerfull.''
Heck, with this logic, it's even better than my poor PC with a 1920X1200 screen.

So a dual core cpu, with a quad core gpu... and apple isn't known for overclocking. I'd say the GTAB with Exynos5250( arm-cortex-A15)is the one you should be hyping as the vita/3ds killer... well in the gfx department.

There are a lot of assumptions here.

No it's common sense. Why would they have the same cpu as the ipad 2 and keep it at the same clock speed. Not interested in the iPad 3, it's just an iPad 2 with 5MP camera.

then why upgrade your pc, why buy a current gen console, why buy a new cell phone. everything is an upgrade over previous generation thats why we buy these things. btw quad core gpu, retina display, 4G LTE, wi-fi hot spot, overclocked cpu, IR camera is considerable upgrade.

Still doesn't interest me. Next year they'll release another one that's just an improvement in hardware. What difference does it make really?

So better visuals & higher resolution don't matter when it comes down to 360 vs PC
But better visuals & higher resolution do matter when it comes down to Ipad vs Vita
How can anyone take you serious and nog laugh their ass of with your ramblings ?

The Apple Generations last like 6 months. Computers and phones don't need upgrades as often. This argument is irrelevant. Not everyone has $600+ to drop on an iPad every single year.

Tablets and smartphones are'nt currently in desperate need of better hardware. Software does'nt really scale with with performance potential and there is a ton of optimization to be done, along with focus on batterylife, before we're in any desperate need of more powerfull tablets/smartphones.
My O2X is getting older by the day yet is'nt at all inferior to the latest Android smartsphones, no thanks to our productive hardware-manufacturers. An active development community made sure of that.
Please don't mention PC upgrades in this context because they're not at all related for the time being.

yeah because every time i buy a GTX 590 for example its suddenly obsolete the next year, please as if, it is just a larger ipod touch for an outrageously high price just like the stupid iphone 4s was. there is no need to buy the same crap every year just because it has a miniscule improvement[QUOTE="GotNugz"]

PC graphics cards did have very short life spans before the current consoles came...
granted that was true then but now that does not really apply, moreover for the ipads caseWait whats the point in getting the ipad 3 when all you really use it for is watching videos and going online.....? Real gaming on it would be a joke due to the controls. Good luck playing metal gear solid on an ipad lol.

Yeah, it's about to kill the 3DS as it already kille the PSV.
I made a thread on this already
"The new iPad will sport a Retina Display, boasting a 2045x1536 resolution, 3.2 million pixels, and 264ppi,a dual-core A5X CPU along with a quad-core GPU has been included, upgrading from the A5,As far as connectivity is concerned, Apple's tablet has raised the bar and will be 4G LTE compatible.the A5X is twice as fast a the Tegra 3 chips found in a number of Android devices."
Not 3 times more powerful. get your facts right TC
OF COURSE graphics matter and of COURSE no single feature alone can make a system.
As high end computer tablet the Ipad 3 kills the PS Vita in terms of overall capabilities (music interface, web surfing, webcam, word processing, etc) and, yes, it has a better screen than any handheld (or tablet?) to date. Still, the Vita (and 3DS) cater more to gamers with intuitive control interfaces, strong first party content, etc. The ipad 3 also costs about twice as much as a Vita. Why compare 'em?
Having buttons would certainly help.
topgunmv
This.
If it doesnt have any buttons or analog sticks. It really doesnt matter how powerful it is.
It will be sh1t for gaming with.
I rather stick with my PS Vita. Why would I want to game on a device that seems powerful, but doesn't support mainstream games with no buttons and only uses touchscreen to play games? iPad 3, thanks, but no thanks. Plus the PSV is more for the hardcore like me than casual type gamers that play Angry Birds or Cut the Rope.

Sorry, it clearly has too much resolution, it will ruin the cinematic blur. Also, the framerate will be too high because it's too powerfull. It needs to be below 30fps to make it more cinematic. Ipad 3 fails.

Indeed, and only for more 200€ than the VITA or even more, who knows..
