The official hype thread for Lair was AA for Gamespot, which hasn't reviewed it yet so you just never know...

But the hype thread was created after dismal previews and hands-on articles were already appearing, prior to that this game was hyped to hell and back as AAA. I think if you go back in SW history as far back as you can you will find a ton of Lair hype threads.

This game is technically hyped AA, but seriously before any reviews came out it was off the hype chart. Cows really do have short memories. CassiusGaius

That wasn't a post regarding a single console. It was a post about floppage.. think of it this way, if metriod prime 3, that scored an 8.5, is a flop in system wars... then lair who was also hyped.. is what? a mega flop? the queen of all flops? That is reflected by the floppage level next to each game.. flop being the lowest, and flopeaga being the highest (following suffix system of the final fantasies).

I mean.. common.. I HAVE a wii.. and I am a metriod prime fan.. I'D KNOW IN WHICH CONSOLE MP3 WOULD BE IN.

That's really bad.

The cows hyped Lair significantly more than Lemmings hyped Blue Dragon. I mean ouch, a 4.9? This is massive ownage. That score is reserved for Vampire Rain-quality games. Cows can't even say "wait for the Gamespot review" after all that smack they've been talking lately about how Gamespot rates games harshly but fairly while sites like IGN overrate them, since that would mean that Lair will likely get just as bad a score from GS, if not worse.

Yes I do not remember that many people being sooo hyped about Lair. As soon as I saw the gameplay I knew it wouldn't do well. But I guess not this bad - but hey trash is trash.

watch it get AA here. I would laugh and cry at the same time. On the one had... I wouldn't have to start blogging, on the other hand.... Cows will go absolutely NUTS. Perhaps I should make a bet that if Lair gets AA I will leave SW forever...

Factor 5 hasn't made a decent game in ages (GameCube's Rogue Leader 1 was pretty to look at and pretty good, but Rogue Leader 2 was trash), so this is no surprise. Not only was Lair hyped, but Factor 5 itself was hyped when they announced they'd do PS3 exclusively, and then issued PR statements trashing Xbox360 for its alleged lack of power; all of this was cheered by the cows. lol

Well, Factor 5 knows graphics, but they sure don't know games. :lol:

Of course, the most amusing thing is that Factor 5 will forever be known as "Factor 4.9". :P

This hasn't even gotten an AA review yet, besides the Play one. Sure, it isn't official until the Gamespot review happens, but I can't imagine this game not flopping at this point.

First, MP3 flops, then Blue Dragon... now it looks like Lair is destined to flop as well.

Looks like fanboys of all colors and creeds lose, except for the hermits.

You're kidding, right? Until that hilarious EGM review, cows treated Lair like it was the second coming. And even after that review, which cows tried their hardest to "prove" was fake, they still hyped Lair AA. I rarely saw any cow saying that Lair was being overhyped or didn't look that great. I saw a lot more cows say that about Heavenly Sword, actually, which I believe is still officially hyped AAA around here. But Lair? You guys hyped it like crazy, sorry, and it was the majority of you.

I hate you Factor 5. I really wanted to play this, and felt like I might just say screw the reviews and buy it anyway, but 4.9 is a big red sign saying STAY THE **** AWAY FROM ME!

Yeah, the MP3 reactions were pretty bad, but not the worst I've seen. Most seemed to have gotten over that one fairly quickly. I missed the Bioshock reaction though (moving into college does that). How bad was it?

Poor Lair. I'm guessing 7.0 on GS, at one point I really expected like a 9 from it. Even the gameplay dev walkthrough had me going mental over it. It looked so awesome, it must really play like a steaming pile.
