Halo 4 was intended to be a next gen title on the X1 and then somewhere along the line they decided to put it on the 360 instead.. So they kind of had a next gen engine built for the thing already. Doesn't surprise me it looks this good.
I feel bad for anyone missing out on this collection because "microsoft fucked me over too many times".
Looking good! I can't wait to play through the campaign again! Definitely my favorite campaign of the series. Not the biggest fan of the multiplayer, but custom games in any Halo game is always a blast!
You can see the smoothness of the 60fps and that's nice. I thought the textures would look better though. Now it's silky smooth but has a sterile last-gen look to it.
Kind of makes you appreciate Destiny's look (even though it's cross-gen), and that isn't even close to the best looking game out there.
I'm not sure why but destiny is very meh to me. Has some great visuals in areas but in some I'm not impressed at all. The gun models for example, awful. Ground textures and building textures on the other hand are amazing. Shadows as well.
I hope I'l get it as a reviewers copy, that way I could keep it forever because otherwise I won't be able to afford it beside getting Far Cry 4 and whatnot :(
The human eye can't see above 30fps so what are we supposed to be looking at?

Well he is right in saying it will utilise the cloud. But as for 1080p I couldn't care less.
Halo 4 looking so good on XOne doesn't boil down to just the resolution bump.
Halo 4 is easily the best looking game of the last generation consoles. The only other game I can think of that looks better is Beyond, but that's more of a movie then a game.

but he is wrong in thinking dx12/cloud will help halo 5 achieve 1080p/60fps. personally dont give a shit about resolution, 343 have much bigger issues to sort out given the shitfest that was halo 4
Awesome stuff, it looks great for sure but I'm more interested in how the 60 fps will feel like, combined with dedicated servers online you will have excuse for losing a firefight lol.
