Gamespots new more generous rating system to give out the first AAAA in 6 years?

Seeing as the old system's 9.8, 9.9would now = 10?

I put MGS4, and Bioshock as seperate because they are being hyped the most (other than Halo). And I know gears is not exclusive.

Also, put if you think that Corruption Mario galaxy or -------------------------Any other Nintendo exclusive will make AAAA

Also, if you now look at the GS rating system... 10/10 is PRIME, not PERFECT, but prime... LASTLY, I say the new rating system is more generous because wouldn't a 9.8=10 and 9.3=9.5 and so on...

How wrong I was... And so were 222 other voters for Bioshock. I thought for sure AAA, 9.5. And kinda hoped for AAAA. But now I see how gamespot is THE hardest rater. Especially Jeff.

Now they just say 'Oh that game is an 8.5' with no reason to back it up, like the formula they used before... Loved it!

There's no reason to believe that a game that would before equal a 9.6 would now be worthy of a 10.

Also, games will obviosuly not be scored in the old system and then "converted" into the new system. It will just be scored, that's it.

It is not easier to score a 10

Under this new system its just as hard to be AAA, and for any AAAA hopefull...well good luck.

Bioshock, Galaxy, Corruption, or Phantom Hourglass. if none of those get a 10, we wont see one ever again.gromit007

You also forgot a few other Very Important Games.

only 9.75+ from the old system would be considered a 10 now, but bioshock has the best chance closely followed by crysis imo.

One thing is certain, should a game hit AAAA it will be a feeding frenzy here in SW. Fanboys will rip the game apart and expose every possible weakpoint.

It could be entertaining!

whatever system that AAAA is on.... we will never hear the end of it from that group... hopefully its a game i will own :)

Maybe because Galaxy has changed a lot from the previous two 3D games. Anyone who remembers playing Zelda or Super Mario 64 would agree that those two games were extremely innovative and changed platformers and action adventure games for the good. Personally I disliked Super Mario Sunshine because it played a lot like SM64 in certain ways, but the cleaning thing was annoying and overall the game was pretty boring. The exact opposite can be said for the first time I picked up and played and still do play Super Mario 64. The game was fresh, original, somewhat challengingand loads of fun. Sure the gameplay is pretty generic by today's standards but I still love that game because it is fun. Galaxy I am hoping is going to be much like that experience, something new and promising instead of a rehashing like what happened with Sunshine. The same logic I would also apply to the Metroid Prime series, the first game was great but lacked a story development method that was not tedious, because the scanning sucked imo. Echoes changed that and it was more story driven and the gameplay was still just as good, with some slight tweaks and improvements. So now Corruption is going to play differently, hopefully on a much faster pace then the previous two games and will still have a proper story that is driven the way games should have.

Just because it's says perfect at the bottom of a 10 doesn't make it true, it could of just as well said Excellent, it means excatly the same thing. The rating system is 1-10, 1 being the worse, 10 being the best. Stop jumping on the, it can't be perfect bandwagon.

Um, the 10 now is called PRIME, I think... becauseI think GS or someone else like OXM said like that there was no "perfect" game... but PRIME is definetly better

I know that lotsof sheep arehyping Galaxy to be AAA, but won't the wii's graphical power keep it from getting that coveted 10 in the graphics department? 10 in gameplay is probably for sure tho...hellfire9988
