How many units do you think the PS4 sell by the end of 2017?

Since June the PS4 has managed to sell over 60 million units.

Last holiday season Sony managed to sell 6.2 million units to consumers.

I think its safe to say PS4 will sell over 70 million units by end of the year.

I will also make two predictions that are probably too obvious at this point.

2018: PS4 outsells PS3/360.

2020: PS4 outsells OG Wii.

Sony is going ham, Fifa bundles in EU at the end of September.

Doubt it will out sell PS3 or PS2. Its been downhill for Sony. And after Vita settles in...ouch, i dont know about the company. I think their days are numbered. PS5 i think will do even worst than 60 million.

I can at least definitely say that worldwide sales for PS4 will be at 80 million by March 31, 2018. So, I'd say maybe they'll be at 75-78 million units by this year's end?

Don't under estimate the impact of the X1X. I think we will see a big drop off in PS4 sales when it is released!

I'm not entirely sure you are being serious, but the likelihood of a $500 console actually having much market penetration - this is before I tackle issues like games, marketing, or just the brand equity of Xbox outside of the US and UK - is quite absurd.

• Vita's lifetime sales are 15 million, so they're slightly above Wii U
• If they didn't buy Vita, then they can't feel betrayed by Vita, so your entire point doesn't stand
• All but one non Nintendo handhelds have sold worse than Vita

Like @emgesp said, a $500 console with no games isn't gonna slow down the sales of a $250 console in the middle of a gen. The XboneX might as well exist in it's on vacuum at this point. Only hardcore lems with 4KTVs will buy one. a sub-set of a sub-set of consumers. Its impact will be negligible. It is you who are delusional and I'll be happy to prove you wrong at the end of the year when sales numbers release.

PS5 isn't releasing any sooner than the Xbox Two. In fact, it hasn't been confirmed yet to even exist. You're completely nuts if you think an unannounced console that's probably coming 2019 at the earliest will have any impact on PS4 sales.

Has nothing to do with fanboyism, but common sense. PS5 is releasing in 2019 at the earliest and even when that launches its not like the PS4 gets discontinued right away.

Again, beating PS3 will happen in 2018, guaranteed. Beating Wii is definitely a high possibility as well given how well the PS4 is still selling and it hasn't even dropped to $199.99 yet.

PS5 is going to actually handle 4K gaming properly with improved graphics. This will matter more in 2019 - 2020 as the adoption rate of 4K displays will be much greater than it is today. Is that revolutionary, no, but so what? Things don't need to always be revolutionary to be fun and worthy of my hard earned dollar. Every Playstation home console has been great and so will the PS5.
