Who cares? Shenmue was not good, I played it on Dreamcast and it was so boring. You just walk around all day, what kind of game is that? It was even more boring than Battle Field.

Shut up.
Shut up again.
Idiot.
Yeah... it was still mindnumbingly boring.
Problem with Shenmue 3 is that it would require a massive budget which I don't think Nintendo would be willing to shell out for such a niche game (the DC original didn't even cover the development expenses).
But it would deff. be a strong game to compete with Sony's Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls.
It could also improve the image of the system in the sense that it wouldn't be viewed as another "kid's toy" amongst the general population (due to having sophisticated games of such calibre).

I don't get why people praise Shemnue but dislike Heavy Rain. Or why shemnue is a great game but Heavy Rain is a movie? Anyone with this opinion want to explain why?

Haven't played HR, but I loved Shenmue, and it's really a different type of game. Shenmue had similar components in qte's, cinematic voice acting and soundtrack, lot's of cutscenes. What was cool about Shenmue was all the little things to do in the world. For the time it was released it had a very realistic and interactive world. Cassette players and tapes, game system, collectible capsule toys, food you eat and drink in realtime cutscenes, arcades to play games in a game in, gambling.
Go to the store, buy Sega tuna...
Give Segatuna to kitty in box...
All sorts of cool stuff. Also, the fight system was surprisingly deep. You have base moves and add more from scrolls.
You could train your moves in certain areas and if you praticed a lot you could devestate large numbers of enemies like a real badass...

For *edit*2000 this was a highly advanced game and had a development budget of approx. $70 million. GS reviews of Shenmue and Mario Kart 64 are some of the biggest crimes against games in the history of the world.:P

Mario Kart 64 got a 6.4.
That was one of the funniest things I have seen.

GS was fairly harsh on the reviews back then. IGN gave Shenmue a 9.7 Editor's Choice. GS pissed on it.
Mario Kart 64 and Diddy Kong Racing GS reviews were a bad joke as well. Anybody who played them back in the day knew they were incredible games.
In hindsight, I'm glad they switched to the .5 increments for reviews. Scores like 6.6 or 8.8 sound so idiotic.
I think Nintendo picked up B2 as a part of their push to take over core Japanese home console gaming from Sony.
They want to dominate both the handheld and console space.
There, a 300k+ selling title is pretty big. Yes it'll sell overseas too, but that's the main reason I think.
You're damage controlling something that hasn't even happened yet. Good job.Who cares? Shenmue was not good, I played it on Dreamcast and it was so boring. You just walk around all day, what kind of game is that? It was even more boring than Battle Field.

The first game apparently not doing good enough on two platforms?
lundy86_4
Eh, I can kind of agree. Over 1 million was certainly good, just not up to Sega's standards for warranting a sequel in such a small franchise.
Also they probably didn't make enough money to warrant a sequel. The first Shenmue cost 70 Million to manufacture. I forget how much they cost brand new but if it costs $50 they had to sell 1,400,000 copies just to break even.
There's a boycott website because Bayonetta 2 is a Wii-U exclusive? :|
That's just pathetic.

The site its hilarious.
Shenmue was an awesome game though. So I would hate that they would keep that game exclusive to a nintendo system. Would I be butthurt? Heck no, I've got TLOU and MOH.
lol that's hilarious.[QUOTE="rjdofu"][QUOTE="super600"]
