How can Microsoft win E3?

Which games and tech would they need to announce in order to fully reconvince you of this platform?

MCC remaster

Halo 6

Gears of War 5

Crackdown 3

Forza Horizon 4

Those five plus at least two new exclusive IP's. A 2/3TB Xbox one X revision, Xbox one X OG price drop and a brand new vision introduced by Phil Spencer that lays out the road ahead for them, mostly saying they will invest in Xbox exclusives and that they are working on Next gen. I would also love if we just can install the Play Anywhere Xbox One discs in our PC, not just the digital download.

At this point I'm honestly not sure, they're certainly backed into a corner right now.

There was some speculation over on reddit that they were going to give Banjo Kazooie and Tooie the same remaster treatment Spyro and Crash got, that one would go a long way for me personally but I kinda doubt it'll end up happening.

They will show Metro exodus thus wins.

Aside from Forza Horizon which is also on PC... Nothing Xbox has interests me one bit, Gears is meh and Halo went to s*** after Halo 3.

Also am I the only one who doesn't understand why Crackdown even has a third coming out?... That game was a jumping simulator for me.

A new Kameo game or Conkers

Yeah this, plus I want to see Age of Empires IV gameplay so bad.

By giving a jerk to every attendee of E3 because they definitely can't seem to do it with games based on the past history. (Yeah, I'm watching Silicon Valley)

There's tons of great classics from the 80/90s that could use a modern adaptation providing they keep the core of what made them great to begin with. New IPs are iffy as they have to have amazing visuals to get attention and often dont turn out to be all that if anything at all.

Announce a new Xbox and announce 10+ real AAA exclusives for this new system.

Let Xbone die and focus on the new system/gen.

They need to not show another Forza, Gears or Halo....they need some new fresh games.

I would say that games but they have been clearly outmatched by Nintendo and Sony in terms of quantity and quality of exclusives; so the only way to win is to have a surprise announcement that also became THE GAME of the E3 and a true exclusive not that play first thing.

I think it's an impossibility.

If they showed like a new Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable, Kameo, Banjo, new Battletoads, new IP plus some other big and good looking exclusives (like a Ninja Gaiden or some shit), they'd at least have a chance. But that's not happening.

Wait wait wait...E3 is a competition?

And here I thought it was a place where publishers and developers come together to display their best and most innovative products in a wonderful display of gaming.

How do you win E3, who is the judge and does the winner get a trophy and a shitload of cash???

I want to see new and ambitious IP. A new single player campaign type of game would actually be a good sign that they are adapting to shortcomings in their lineup (Yes, I can hear you groaning while reading this, IDGAF). We've had their holy trinity this generation and it would be good to see more of those, but I think new property is the final frontier for the XBox. I also want to see them do more with their ownership of Rare properties. That, to me, is their easiest avenue of building success. That is my expectation going to E3. If they can meet or exceed that, I would buy an XBox.

PS3 backwards compatibility

Announce new hardware and call it PS5?

Serious answer. I don't know about "winning" E3, but they can make some waves by...

- Killing the Xbox Live paywall. GP will be the only paid service

- Announce a new AAA IP

- Announce an established one or two

- Introduce a couple of previous PS4 console exclusives to Xbox

Long shot

- Announce a challenger to the Switch - Xbox Surface (lol)

Show some new and interesting exclusives that are launching this year, along with the staples such as Forza Horizon 4, Halo 6, and a new Fable game. I'm hoping MS comes out swinging. I hope they make me want to buy their games.

Funny part is that's what MS is already doing now with Xbone.

They won't win, but a few "exclusives" that actually release this year besides Crackdown 3 and Horizon 4 would be a start. If those end up being their only major releases for the back half of the year, this will easily be the worst year Xbox One has ever had.

Games. Need more games. They would do very well if they can announce and/or show two new games that are exclusive to the Xbox and PC gamersphere. The need to show their bread and butter, too, because plenty of gamers want those.

Absolutely. Every year it seems to be Forza this or that. MS used to have another racing game on it but I can't recall the name. Gotham racing or something was it? That series was fun. Forza is fun but it has been over-done.

For once, I totally agree. MS might as well announce a new next-gen Xbox console despite X was just an upgrade to begin with.

im going to go in the opposite direction here: no games. dont announce a single new game. everyone else is doing games. double down on services. make that gold subscription work more.

office 365 on xbox....yep. er thatll be a new addon sub though.

join the xbox development community. stick a keyboard and mouse in your xbox and access a complete stack of development tools for making games and other applications (all running on the azure cloud). for an added sub you can have access to the full versions of top of the line software developers use. also make mods for existing games that support them.

streaming games to other devices...done (i think thats actually done for windows 10 but im not sure about other devices).

want to just access azure cloud computing resources for some reason? go for it.

They could introduce yet another Windows OS. Streamlined for gamers, the new OS would 'only' take 50% of your HDD and processing power!!! Awesome, dude!!!!!!!

All I see in the list is Halo, Gear and Forza from TC lol... Ooh and Crack Down looks to be another flop!!

Then announcing Xbox is a failure and Microsoft is shutting them down and their games are going 3rd party.

Some thoughts on Xbox 4 announcement-

I think it would be in their best interest to win the power battle against Playstation going forward, especially if they're not going to try harder with getting more 1st party games on the platform.

Therefore, they might want to wait another year and try to see what Sony is doing with PS5.

With that said, here is what would get a "win" for E3 for me:

Reveal that Xbox 4 is currently in development and will launch in the year 2020
All OG Xbox and 360 games that are currently BC on Xbox One will be playable on Xbox 4 day one. All Xbox One games (digital and physical) will work on Xbox 4. Xbox Live will no longer be a paid subscription. Instead, Game Pass will be receiving a price increase, but will be a much bigger service, including access to betas for upcoming games and discounts on games.

Price reduction on Xbox One X

Master Chief Collection update news, including Halo Reach campaign, multiplayer, and firefight are being added for free.

Halo 6 will launch day one with Xbox 4

A new first party studio has been created, and is making a new IP to launch with Xbox 4.

Revive atleast 2 old IP's that others have already mentioned.

Hypothetically, they can have the most impressive showing, but not many would acknowledge it.

For the PC side. pretty much nothing.

Show No Man Sky

Announce new studio with what they have in mind in terms of new IP. Halo 6 and gears 5 or any spin off, Forza horizon 4. Fable 4 perfect dark announcement. All of the following won't happen so I don't expect ms to win e3 with Sony showing off the last of us 2. Nintendo will show off metroid so ms need a big game.

Announce that they're quitting console gaming and selling all their studios to Sony

I can see ms games being service based and ending up being allowed to be play anywhere PS4/switch pc/Xbox.

Yawn at the winning E3 nonsense.

Think MS can finally go all in on games. They have the backbone and services now to reach a lot of devices wether xbox or pc. Finally starting to see new studios being formed and MS acquiring companies to strengthen its services.

Pretty pumped to see what MS has planned for Xbox at E3 this year and hope to see a path on building more ip new and old, and more third party support with gamepass/ play anywhere.

Don't care about this "winning" crap, just give me a fun E3 like it has been the last 3 or so years and I'm all good.

Make all their games multiplat. I bet some Sony fanboys would love to play Gears, Forza or Halo on the Playstation.

I don't think it'll matter what they announce... the usual people/parts of the media will still find fault with it.
