The gameplay presentation for Horizon is more impressive, but I have more faith in Platinum and Hideki Kamiya to deliver the goods.

From what we've seen of both, Horizon looks better.

But with that said, I'll blindly back Kamiya and Platinum over Guerrilla any day.

Knew this comparison was coming but a bit late i'm disappointed SW.:P

I want to play both but right now I am more interested in Horizon but I am sure I will play Scalebound more. it's Kamiya brah, GG ain't gonna beat him in combat and this looks like the first Plat game with this much color and art so i'm very pleased. GG is not going to beat Kamiya in what he specializes in.

Horizon only had one enemy on the screen when action became intense. Scalebound has 4 player co op. Yeah, whichever one has the most action.

I leaning towards Horizon myself but it looked a bit too choreographed. Not to mention the "kill zone" color palette....

Both because
-New IP
-Not a played out genre/concept

Presentation wise Horizon was smoother, but we're talking annoying characters and I like beats by drew way more than that bitch who was giving me every little fucking detail on what she is doing (the former is cheese, I like video games that know they are cheesy, the latter is condescending). Beyond that they both look fun for different reasons, but both come off in a very lite-rpg sense at best. Effectively they still look like action games. Beyond that having a dragon friend vs taking down robotic dinosaurs? Actually think both sound badass.

If you didn't tell me who the developers were I'd say push, with a slight edge to Horizon for having a smoother presentation that gives me the impression that I'll be playing it sooner. Scalebound I could see being delayed, and probably should be a 2017 game if it's meant to be a holiday 2016 game (you know safe side and everything).

Otherwise in no way shape or form am I trusting GG over Platinum Games, much less Hideki Kamiya. But I'm looking forward to both.

The one that's made by a credible developer.

Honestly Horizon might be alright but knowing Guerrilla Games they'll probably more effort into the visuals and presentation than the mechanics, because mechanically I wasn't too impressied with the game.

As an X1 owner. I would have to say horizon based on what we saw. The animations in horizon look great. Scalebound also looks awesome and it is a day 1 purchase. But like I said. My opinion is based on the stage show and horizon looked badass. Definitely looking forward to 2016. Buying a PS4 for sure.

I really want to play both but if push comes to shove I'll say Horizon. I know Platinum Games are considered Godlike but I don't want to play a game that's frenetic hack and slash and that's what Scalebound seems to be grounded in and that's okay, it's Platinum's hallmark.

I expect Horizon will be paced better and rely less on mindless button mashing (obviously speculating wildly here) but I know either way I'll end up buying both.

Is there an exact time frame for Horizon? Is it coming holiday 2016? It certainly did look as though it was more polished, but I'm worried about it becoming repetitive.

Kamiya made Devil May Cry, Okami and Bayonetta. Platinum made Vanquish, Metal Gear Rising and Bayonetta.

Guerrila Games made Killzone.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah. Horizon had a better stage presentation but i don't need a magic ball to know which will make a better game.

Yeah for all the hype and the presentation that Horizon had all I keep thinking about is Guerrilla Games and their less than stellar track record

I thought Horizon might be more comparable to Tomb Raider maybe with its stealth bow hunter gameplay, or even Ark: Survival Evolved in that regressive primitive future world. Scalebound itself kind of reminded me more of The Last Guardian in the partnering with a giant beast pet thing, minus the artsy nature and more combat oriented. Why make equivalencies though? I wanna play them all rather than have a dick measuring contest. Anyhow, more excited for Scalebound, given its Platinum making it, and I've more faith in them delivering a better game than Guerrilla in the end, though I think Guerrilla can certainly make a great game too; I just hope they go for better story and characters than anything we saw in the Killzone games. Plus, I have a Xbox One at the moment, meaning I'll be able to jump right on Scalebound when it releases. Whereas, I've yet to get a PS4, so first things first.

I think they both look pretty cool, although the nod has to go to Horizon. It looks more dynamic - the world, but also the gameplay (queue some guy yelling at me for "how could you possibly think that way, didn't you see ___ in the Scalebound video!?!?!"). Both characters could do without talking, although again Scalebound takes a bigger hit there because the dude is just... ugh. That being said, I share others' concerns about the developer pedigree - both could fall on their face or feel uninspired when playing, but GG feels like a higher probability.

Horizon looks more interesting. Scalebound seems like it's trying to be Xenoblade Chronicles X but with a dragon instead of a mech. Plus it lacks the hyper-fast action that Platinum is renowned for.

Horizon looks more impressive and I'm not a big fan of Kamiya's games, but I'm more interested in Scalebound. Horizon didn't interest me all that much at the first look.

We'll see how this changes when I can actually play them.

Horizon for me, but I have never been a fan of Platinum games and dragons don't really appeal to me. Also Guerrilla has made good games. KZ2 was amazing and KZ3 was good. We have no idea how they transition to this new genre, but they have hired some great talent to help with the transition.

You mean Eurotrash?

I can see them buying Scalebound for the main character , but the dragon - not so much.

Why dont we rename this thread "Giant Douche vs Turd Sandwich"

I think we all know the turd...

Horizon. Scalebound looks ok so far. It just the presentation for horizon made it look so much better. Also plat games are hit and miss with me. What I noticed as well is the MC for SB resembles DMC dante a bit. Surprised more people didint flip. The music as well seemed kinda jaring. The techno to magical adventure soundtrack felt like whiplash. They need to fix that.

I think Platinum _Games are a tad bit overrated, so for me Horizon looks better.

I was told that Vanquish is the best Third person shooter of last generation......never again :(

I probably couldn't pick one over the other at the moment. Too early.

Scalebound comes from a dev with better pedigree than Horizon, but Guerilla could nail it, and almost make me forget about Shadowfall.

Horizon gameplay looked more smooth but I'm thinking Scalebound will be much better than what was showed at Gamescon by the time it releases. Guerilla Games hasn't really put out any games I've been overly impressed with. Horizon is very different than their other works though. I'm personally looking forward to seeing how they both turn out.

Scale Bound because:

  1. It's only available on the great Xbox One, not PoS4
  2. It's an action RPG, not a generic Turok Wannabe Shooter
  3. Guerillia Games has a poor track record on game development compared to Platinum

Interesting comparison... But not sure it's possible to make a real choice at this point... Both look promising, both have quality devs though I think it's tough to argue gorilla being as quality as platinum... I need to see more before a poll means anything.
