Hate to say it....but consoles are winning

Agreed gaming is a lot more enjoyable on consoles but PC offers better visuals. But now consoles offer very good visuals especially titles like KZSF so I'm all about consoles again. My PC is sufficient for multiple years but my PS4 will entertain for much longer.

What a joke. Yes, consoles are winning when games like DOTA 2 and Path of Exile are free and better than 90% of the library on consoles. Even if you prefer to play with a controller on a couch in front of the TV every once in a while (PC can do this too), you have to admit that PC gaming is the best way to go if you can afford it. Smoothest framerate, cheapest games, biggest library, best graphics, most options, need I go on?

I like both consoles and pc, so it really doesn't bother me at all if a 3rd person game on the PC is played better with a controller. I just plug in my Xbox 360 controller and play the game. Why is that an issue at all?

RDR was never released on PC bc the game was developed for rotten potato but still,there is a (small)chance that we will see a PC version (that job listing),so many "old" console exclusives did end up on PC like Alan Wake ,Castlevania LoS,Enslaved,Brutal Legend,MGR etc

there is a reason why i always have both consoles and PCs. It all depends on the game dude. But right now i've been exclusively PC. When this gen really get on the way i'll go back to consoles again. Also certain games i just don't play on PC like sports games. The real communities for those games are on console. Doesn't make much sense to me to play a sports game on PC.

What Hermit's call "depth" is really just an inconvenience. M&KB isn't for gaming, it's for making spreadsheets. You know it; I know it, and the only it's even mentioned in the videogame spectrum is because it got shoehorned in there. In fact PC gaming in general is sort've just shoehorned in there. Mostly bootleg, and doesn't really work.

Never understood this dumbed down argument. Games get streamlined, people argued both SC2 and Diablo 3 were dumbed down despite neither being designed with consoles in mind.

Making games easier to play, has nothing to do with consoles. PC gamers want streamlined games as well. Get off your high horse.

I agree that most of the big-name multiplats are designed with controllers in mind, but thankfully there are dozens upon dozens of high-quality PC-only games that can keep me busy when I desire a little bit of depth.

And luckily Valve still prioritizes PC, so I can get awesome PC shooters. If they were gone the best multiplayer shooter (I'm talking recently) might be something like........Battlefield? That'd be scary.

The Crysis franchise, for example, was dumbed down for consoles. That's a fact. You couldn't make a game up to Crytek's visual standards in an open world setup like Crysis 1 on consoles with 512MB of memory. So...Crysis 2 and 3 became little more than corridor shooters.

Both consoles and PC for me. Anyone who strictly only plays one over the other is trippin' and missing out, in my view. Unless you can't afford the luxury of a behemoth rig, which I understand. Because honestly, PC gaming isn't worth it unless your rig is top notch.

• Cheap games
• More indie games
• Guaranteed 60 FPS and 1080p
• WAY more adventure games!
• Option for controller or KB/M
• Mods
• Dota 2 ;)
• Free games ("big whoop wanna fight about it?").
• I don't give a damn about Starcraft, Total War, and Football Manager. I don't play MMO games because I don't find the value in 99% of monthly subs (I do play Guild Wars 2 though!).
• Output to multiple screens

Consoles:

• Multiple conveniences
• Splitscreen co-op
• More games will be optimized with the full potential of the hardware.
• Many console AAA blockbuster exclusives that I couldn't live without. Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft. I mean come on, that's a lot of freaking games to miss out on :|. The PC that I currently have would have bought a PS4, Wii U, and XBO.

The SW metagame is a tally of 'quality' games though....

I have to agree. This is why I ditched the PC. It does have more high rated exclusives, but a lot of those games are small budget indie games. I for one am no fan of those games, and if you think about it a 8 AAA game is more than likely better than a 9 indie game due to the fact indie games are held to a lower standard. It sucks PC gaming has been such a poor platform to me lately. I loved PC gaming, but as of now there is zero point in gaming on it at the moment.

That's because you just narrow down the comparison to the games which actually do come out on the PC. How bout Gears of War 2 & 3, Halo 3 & 4, ODST, Reach, MGS4, Demon's Souls, Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted 2 & 3, The Last of Us? You can't claim ownage when a platform misses out on that magnitude of top rated games. Whether or not the PC is even the platform with the most access to games (that matter!) is debatable nowadays.

The difficulty is lumping consoles together. We get the attitude (on this forum) that the consoles are against each other, yet become butt-buddies against the PC. Take it as it is... The metagame is largely determined by exclusives.

PC has tons of exclusives, and unlike consoles, they are exclusive in most cases because they are not suited to a gamepad. With enough money, Halo could end up on Playstation. Good luck playing most PC strategy exclusives with a gamepad.

PCs hold onto exclusives a lot better than XBOX does - particularly the ones that aren't crap.

Do you know how many multi platform games PC users prefer to play on consoles? None. Doesn't matter if the PC version got rated less, it is better. THAT is why PC users - many of whom own multiple consoles - want games like GTA 5 to be released on PC. With the same IBM PC-compatible architecture on all systems this console generation, porting to PC will be easier than ever.

Even the rare game (like Dungeon Siege 3) that I have that works better with a controller, so what? When I grew up lots of games worked better with a Joystick. Just because it doesn't work well with a kb/mouse doesn't mean it isn't a good PC game.

Also, for F$#%ks sakes, just because a game is sold by a european publisher (that doesn't port their games to american or japanese consoles) DOESN'T MAKE IT AN INDIE GAME!

Um, what? Using exclusives from all 3 consoles to combat PC then saying PC with the most quality games is debatable. Seems legit.
