Halo 3 owns SSBB in sales

I was right and the hermits were wrong.

Halo 3 sold more in one day in America (2.4 million) than SSBB sold in one week in America and Japan combined (2.2 million)

Halo 3 also sold 2.8 million in its first week alone in America.

All hail the king of sales, Halo 3.

Almost no one thought it would outsell Halo 3... at release. :)

In the long run, I'm confidant that it will outsell Halo 3. Keep in mind that the advertising for Halo 3 was far greater than the advertising for Brawl. That would create a much greater first day sales.

Nintendo games typically don't have huge openings, but sell consistently over a long period of time.

For example: New Super Mario Bros opened at around 150k in its first week on sale. It has now sold over 14 million copies, which is almost twice as much as Halo 3 has sold. Not only that, but NSMB is now outselling Halo on a weekly basis despite being 3 years older.

Its exactly the same story with every big Nintendo release. Brawl will be no different.

Who cares? FYI, SSBB hasn't released in Europe yet. Oh, silly me, sales only count in America.

Once it's out in all regions, let's compare sales of Halo 3 and SSBB in Japan and Europe.

Brawl essentially sold 2.5 million in one week, and that is in America and Japan alone. Europe and other regions will add at least a million.

People rarely buy more than one version. :roll:

"Yay, lets buy three nearly identical games!"

The one exception is the third version, which usually has some unique differences from the other two, but even then, people often won't buy it, or just wait until it comes out.

What does the hermits even have to do with this?

Hell Brawl hasent even released in PAL regions yet, and didnt have the mega millions marketing campaign that Halo 3 sported.

Halo 3 is a piece of junk (and yes I own a 360 and it's my favourite console). Having said that I ain't picking up SSBB cos that ain't my type of game.

This may have been the most pointless message I've ever posted.

Both games were overhyped. Smash more than Halo because Smash is more like Melee than Halo 3 to Halo 2.

Also.....the Wii has a 5 million plus userbase, Smash was E while Halo was M, and Halo 3 sold practically nothin in Japan. When you compare two of Halo's regions to two of Smashes....Halo will always win.
