This looks better for the most part also.Fan made half life episode 3 since valve wouldnt make it.
Have played precisely zero exclusives released this year, so I’m gonna have to take your word for it. From what I have seen HL:A does look like the title most worthy of the GOTY-epitet.
@warmblur: To be fair, the psvr is pretty low tech and couldn’t handle a game like this.
VR ignorance at its finest.
Yes, the PSVR can handle it, because it's powered by the console. The PS4 is definitely too weak. But the PS5 will easily get the job done.
Yeah I've got a base ps4, I'm excited to see what the ps5 does with the same headset.
My GOTY so far!
I've been surprised and sad there hasn't been more discussion about it (e.g. the amazing level design in chapter 7 and the trippy ending), but it makes sense given the relatively small target audience.
I agree it has a few flaws/rough spots, but despite any of these it certainly feels greater than the sum of its parts and isn't like anything else I have experienced.
Also I should note the game feels very different in VR compared to what you see watching streams or videos of it.
@jewdaddy: It really doesn't, and mentioned above, actually playing in VR and watching a video are two different things.
There was plenty of discussion, after they gleefully set up their nose spouting all sorts of nonsense suddenly went quiet when it was released.
It's really odd.
Most who bought it seem to really like it. But yeah, the visual quality on most VR headsets is lacking and better ones like the Index are very expensive while still not being where they need to be in terms of quality. So, very few will experience the game altogether and even fewer with a quality VR headset. I understand that we need games like HL:A to increase VR adoption, but when the price and quality of the VR headsets are not where they need to be, it is still a tough sell.
@uninspiredcup: mmk, this isnt even a half life game anyway, you dont play as gordon freeman.
Blue Shift was just as awesome as Half-Life, and you played Barney in that one. Opposing Force was awesome as well, and you played a military goon in that one. So it's not exactly out of character of the series.
@jewdaddy: Should have been a manly man, not woman's
