Which one do you think looks better? Forza 2 or GT5?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Game play wise Forza2 is champ. GT5 looks good, thats about it.Heil68
how can you say that when GT isnt out yet
Honestly, to me, they all look the same. I don't see what all the fuss is about.
I guess I'm just not that picky or attentative to detail.

Agreed gameplay > Graphics...
but Why does Forza WIn?
Forza's cars handle much more realistic, and Forza has deeper customization. GT Prologue is a PSN downloadable game, so I am guessing it won't have the thousands upon thousands of customization options that Forza 2 does.

Than Forza 2 > GT 4 or GT:HD gameplay wise.
You have not played GT5 to be able to say that Forza 2 has better gameplay.
First off, whats the point of even making a thread like this if you're going to compress the pics that much?
Second, both those GT5 shots are replay mode shots, which always look better than gameplay shots.
And finally, GT5 is coming out a minimum of a year after Forza 2, of course its going to look better.

Forza 2 is a AAA title, so GT Prologue has it's work cut out for itself.
Is this necessary? We all know that the car models in those GT screens look better than Forza in-game. I say take that with a grain of salt, I need to see it on my tv first....
but either way, the biggest difference between Forza and GT is that I am playing Forza right now, and all cows can do is hype GT screens.

um GTHD is a demo with 10 cars and 1 track built on the GT4 engine. If you call that a game, I'll take Forza, but that's just me.
..and I believe you started this topic about GT5, none of your screens are from GTHD
1) Dont compress pics
2) GT5 is SMASHING Forza's graphics. The poly count per car is a lot higher (especially since interiors are completely rendered as well).
3. Forza has tinted windows to not show the inside, while GT 5 doesn't.
4. You can play in dashboard view in GT 5. (assumed by screenshots)
5. You can't say Forza 2's gameplay is better if you haven't played GT 5. In which you haven't.
6. Customization has always been GT's strong point plain and simple. If you don't beleive me, play the first 2.
7. It is a year later than Forza but oh well, we are comparing graphics.
8. It didn't completely kill 900 consoles. http://digg.com/xbox_360/Mass_Xbox_360_crashing_Forza_2_forum_gets_over_900_replies

[QUOTE="KrazyKenKutarag"]The quality of the screens aren't that great, but I'm gonna say GT5 looks better, but considering it won't ship with car damage included is a big fall-back.

It's already been confirmed that GT5 will have car damage.
I have heard nothing but the opposite. Not saying you're wrong, but link?

Customization has been GT's STRONG SUIT? I can almost let the rest go, but this one is outlandish. Outside of terrible looking wings, and wheels there's nothing. The customization is awful. I could almost consider the race conversion in GT2 a customization, but it wasn't really custom, they had already chosen the design for you. It was a cool feature though.
Forzas tinted windows are an option. Stock, you can see the driver entirely, and he moves better and more realistically than any other racer I know of on consoles to date.
I wouldn't count my GT chickens as releasing in 2008 before they hatch. If it's anything like all previous GT's it'll be out by 2010 if we're lucky.

Yes GT5 is coming out about a year after forza2. But 360 came out a year earlier then the ps3.

But sales wise Gran Turismo will sell tons more copies then forza, and Gran Turismo 5 will sell alot of consoles.

dev time isnt why forza 2 look like crap, idk wut it is cuz pgr3 was a launch title and has way better graphics than forza 2, and i own both games
gt5 will undoubtfully look better...
But the question is...why?
Well, firstly, it's been in development longer. Secondly, the devs have had more time to flesh out the PS3 than did Turn 10 with the 360 (keep in mind Forza 2 was delayed for gameplay purposes). Thirdly, Forza is a game that tracks just about everything that's going on with your car at any given time with real-time telemetry. Next, Forza's main focus is to be the most flushed out racing sim, that is not GT5's intentions. Lastly, Forza features real time damaging which is not only aesthetic, but also performance wise while GT5 does not.
Conclusion: Forza focuses on key gameplay features which ultimately explain the subpar graphics while GT5 displays superb graphics but lacks the amount of features as Forza. These two games are completely different. PLEASE STOP COMPARING THEM. Take your pick and move on.

Probably because the gameplay in forza is infinitely deeper than PGR. I am glad that they spent their time with that.

read your own post. what does customization and forza killing 900 consoles have to do with graphics?
Well killing 900 consoles certianly doesn't help its rep. And also me refering to GT's customization, is in response to the people flagrantly saying that GT is not customizable.
Next, Forza's main focus is to be the most flushed out racing sim, that is not GT5's intentions. DonPerian
I am going to have to wholeheartedly disagree here. Forza is the best in this respect right now, but it's also the latest released. If GT5 is anything like all the other GT's, Polyphony is going to try and make the most accurate driving sim available on consoles. It's the cornerstone of the series.

Okay guys.. here is an IN GAME screenshot of GT5:

In-game...as in you're playing it right now and took that picture...or in-game as in released by devs as a promotional screen that looks like it might be in-game?
It looks great, but we can't say "GT5 looks better than Forza2 in-game". GT5 is not a game yet.
