1)one of the ukranian law enforcement structure was interested in taking control over GSC (translation - they wanted to capture the company and have their money/control their direction).

Well that is depressing news, especially since it would have gotten a bit more attention with the multiplat direction it was headed in.

I wasn't into Stalker much but that pretty sad to hear.

If true this is probably the worst gaming related news I've heard all year.

Stalker is a fantastic series. Its sad to see it go like this

Never played Stalker, but I saw alot of people praise it so I guess this is pretty unfortunate news.

I feel bad for fans of the series who won't be able to get another fix.:(

I find it funny that you ignore all of the console-only devs going/went out of business. Is that what they get for developing on consoles?

i hope cd projectk isnt next. still need to play the witcher 1 and 2. and im going to see if i can get the game. its very cheap now on amazon

lol it was the attempt to develop Stalker 2 on console what killed them. It may be for the best at least the game wont have to have its name blighted by the crippling limitations of consoles.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was overrated anyways. I beat Shadow of Chernobyl and then about 30 minutes into Call of Pripyat just deleted them both.

Doesn't surprise me. Their games don't sell particularly well and they were trying to go multiplat with their latest. They probably also had a lot of internal problems.

Honestly, I would rather this happen than STALKER 2 be released and it be a consolized piece of garbage.

They invested into develpment kits for the Xbox 360 and maybe PS3. I think that they tried to overexend themselves with their latest game.

If anything, the consoles killed them.

Never played Stalker but i heard nothing else than praise for it, i was expeting 2 since it was going to be multiplat, sad, sad news indeed, might pick Stalker 1 even if my PC can't run it at high settings.

For a series like STALKER selling almost 5 Million copies as of last year it´s pretty good,I´d say they sold particulary well.

Does that include digital sales? Like when Steam has the series on sale for 10 bucks?
