How do they get away with skipping one of their biggest franchise’s Socom? Sure they screwed up the last one, but you learn from your mistakes. Same thing with Syphon Filter and Twisted Metal.

That said, yes, this has been an incredible gen of new and existing IPs the likes of which haven't been seen since the PS1 days.

Yeah... 2 of my favorite franchises that aren't getting any love. I liked some of the games pictured but the absence of the games mentioned stings more than a little. Hoping to see them next gen... hell just give me SOCOM and Syphon Filter. I'd rather have a new Vigilante 8 than a Twisted Metal, but I know that's a staple franchise that many love.

The PS4 greatness never struck for me. Xbone is pointless if you have a PC. This gen would have easily been the worst if not for the Switch.

Same with most exclusives. To be held hostage on shit hardware and be forced to run at 30fps...

But most exclusives are only funded in the first place to be system sellers.

Nothing stopping any dev or publisher from funding blockbuster PC exclusives that melt the latest and greatest hardware.

Best exclusives of this gen. Everything else pales in comparison and look like some cheap indie game 🤗

Exclusives are games like any others. There are big budget games from third party publishers. There are obscure games and niche games funded as well. Sony, MS, and Nintendo do not offer anything special. All it takes is a lot of money and the right talent to make a blockbuster game. Those things are not exclusive to those companies. So, why should the games be?

False. Exclusives are a completely different beast and almost always funded by 1st parties to stay exclusive (or at least timed) so they can sell hardware.

False. They offer large sums of money so that developers can have more security and freedom to make their games without worrying about going bust. This is a VERY special thing. You can see something similar with the Epic Games store "exclusives" on PC.

Because those companies fund the exclusives, purely BECAUSE they are exclusives. If those companies didn't fund them, they wouldn't be exclusive, and they wouldn't be made, at least not in the same way.

I guess games like The Witcher, CP 2077, Red Dead, GTA, Skyrim, Bioshock, Half-Life, Doom, RE, DMC, AssCreed, Mass Effect, Metro, Dead Space, Battlefield, Batman, Tomb Raider, Dark Souls, Sekiro, etc. are not very good because they are not exclusive. How did these quality games ever get made without being exclusive?

Exclusives are what makes companies unique. When Mario released on the NES, should it have been on the Atari too?

1. Not all of them.

2. From what I heard, PSNow is absolute crap on PC as well as the ps4, so unlike most multiplats, and all of MS recent exclusives, PC just might not be the best way to play these PSNow titles.

Hm... Our ability to tell funny from flaccid does generally wane with age. While there's no denying it's a one way street overall, ordinary signs of decline are far from a death sentence. There are a number of steps you can take to regain some vigour, including exercise, a change in diet, cutting down on alcohol (if that's your poison of choice), time away from the screen. Not much of the greatness.....and plenty of the waits for games HaH

I love my PS4 but it's not because of Sony's first party titles. Most of those are only okay and usually if I wait long enough they get selected as a ps+ game.

Xbox got smoked this gen. If you still stuck by them after all their bullshit then you not only hate video games, but you hate yourself. The best thing about Xbox failing this gen, is watching all their fan clowns still bending over backwards to defend them despite Xbox constantly changing policies and yanking the rug out from under them every time.

Watching the Xbox civil war unfold on Youtube was something else as well. As tons of people jumped ship to Playstation while the Xbox refugees doubled down and defended being starved for content, just like the lems do here. 🤣
