God of War to have no Micro-transaction's, this is how you make a game in 2018

Cory barlog tweeted no way when asked if there will be micro transactions in the game.

Wow. EA and Microsoft step aside 60 dollar game is all we need for the full game.

Sony thank you for making the game and putting everything in it shame on you with micro transactions and garbage in your games at launch.

Take notes sea of zzzz's and halo 5 and gears 4 and battlefront this is how you make a game in 2018.

It's a single player game. When did any single player game ever have microtransactions?

shadows of war and stuff had tons of micro transactions that middle earth game this is sony making games right for the gamers by the gamers

You must be joking. I'll have you know I like anything in Mythology stuff, I know little about Norse Mythology (besides Marvel's Thor) so God of War 4 will enlighten me on the mythos.

I didn't really expect them, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if this game had them and I'm relieved that it doesn't.

This is how you do it people! EA and other dumbass greedy publishers should take note. Not every game needs microtransactions in it. I can understand MP games having lootboxes for cosmetic stuff but putting lootboxes in every game regardless of its genre is dumb as hell and greedy too. I knew we hit a new low when games like Shadow of War started having lootboxes. Good thing Sony and a few other smart publishers are still around to show how it's done.

I like this game, but it's tainted. The only way you can get Helix credits and unlock these suits is by paying real money for the credits.

Maybe someone can clear it up, but does anyone know if you can unlock these outfits in game without paying?

99% of single player games don't have MTX. I'm really not sure why GOW needs to be praised here.

Impossible. Microtransactions cannot be done by Sony for they are the saviour of games so this is obviously a lie.

Honestly, I can't even remember seeing Microtransactions in a Sony exclusive game, even in single player games for that matter. I be really surprise if God of War 4 really have any giving the fact there's no MP.

Day 1 purchase. I hope it lives up to the hype. This one feels more hyped than any other GoW game imo

@tryit: I don't understand where you are going with that list. On the one hand, many of those games are multiplats, so it can't be a pc Master Racer thing. On the other hand, some of those are single player and some of those have mp, so it can't be an SP rules thing. And on the third mutant hand, that's hardly an exhaustive or best hits list of lootbox-free games. Just not sure what to make of that info

LOL!!!!! The ONLY GOW console game that flopped critically and commercially, was Ascension. GOW, GOW2, & GOW3 were very successful. Actually, as a series, it's one of the most successful, if not the most successful hack n slash series on console.

yes...in fact, I have never played a game that had microtranactions as part of the real game play other than one for a weekend.

and I dont even try, when I shop for games, the games that do not look completely childish and ridiculous usually dont have micros :)

I've done about all that can be done and spent more hours with a game than in a very long time, perhaps a 100 or more in GR: Wildlands and though that has a ton of micros, I never felt the need to ever once buy anything. As long as they don't give an unfair advantage in MP games and I've not played Wildlands online PvP, I don't see why so many get up in arms about them. If they do give unfair advantage then yes, that stinks.... Bigly. lol :P

@tryit: oh gotcha. Yeah I think Indies are a huge boon in the gaming world these days. Some people love to hate them, but that's where a lot of creativity and consumer-friendly development is now

@MBirdy88: Failure like the last few? WTF are you talking about? GoW 3 was 90+ on metacritic and sold over 5 million copies. Ascension did the worst of the franchise and still managed 80+ on metacritic with over 2 million sold.

Is the developer ruling out DLC entirely, or just 'microtransactions'?

I could totally see this game having heaps of minor cosmetic DLC, but not 'microtransactions' like keys and purchasable upgrade points.

Wouldnt it be cool to have micros n lootboxes n get dlc for free? Love all the content i get for free in star wars battlefront 2 (multiplayer maps /story dlc).

I know people are misinformed and bash Star wars bf2 over lootboxes with pay 2 win and gasp having to grind to earn stuff instead of unlocking everything within a week.
