GameSpot's 10/10 Review Scores , does MS have a chance this gen?

As we look at the games that made a perfect 10 here at GS, we all should notice that Xbox brand has not kicked out a perfect 10 game yet. So my question to you is, what exclusive game from MS could make finally be added to the list of perfect 10's ? Could it be Sea of Thieves , or the next Halo . So what are your thoughts @quadknight ?

The marketing for Sea of Thieves have tried extremely hard to make it look interesting.

Sadly it hasn't worked.

Xbox games have gotten 10s in other places, and I usually don't come here for news anymore, usually just stick to reddit.

Even if it gets 10s at some other site, it still doesn't matter. The only people who tout scores are rabid fannies. I have yet to play a GS 10 rated game that was better than their lower scored games.

Just to be clear, you're talking about the same review system that gave TLOU an 8 and made y'all lose your shit?

They've been giving these out like candy lately. A 15 hour movie game like Uncharted 4 and a 2 hour indie game both got perfect scores.

The only game to deserve a 10/10 this gen is Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3 had the shittiest combat for a modern game so I vote no to 10/10 just for that. There are other shortcomings but that was the biggest.

Combat was fine. Sounds like L2P issue.

It wasn't Dark-Souls levels of precision, but it still had enough weight and rewarded skill. Very few games today have precise combat, it's pretty much only Dark Souls and PC shooters.

It would only matter if review scores by someone that doesn't buy games for me mattered. My scores are all that matter in my life because I am the one buying games for me.

Sea of Thieves doesn't stand a chance in hell of getting a 10/10 and I don't think Halo 6 stands a chance either. MS has to pray that a 2nd/3rd party studio they have a partnership with or maybe T10 get lucky and release a 10/10 worthy game. Their chances aren't looking good this gen at all.

Halo 6 but the standards change for xbox games because they review everything including the online part and hold xbox to a different standard then say the online of sony's games be there 1 or not ... They mainly review the single player part of playstation games and give them a pass for its online attempts

Anything's possible. Only guaranteed 10s right now are Cyberpunk 2077 and Death Stranding with Metroid Prime 4, Pokemon Switch, Bayonetta 3, and DMCV as other possibilities.

Yeah, I remember posting something along the lines of saying a few solid 9.0's for Xbox one would be good enough and that a 9.0's could be 10's depending on who the reviewer was.

I also think the combat gets a worse rap because so many people like Pedro played it at 30fps. I'm not a frame rate junkie, but I will say the game's combat feels much more responsive at 60

Well as we all can see that even Lemmings don't have faith in getting a perfect 10, that couldn't even name a game that they thought would bring them out of the dark ages .

I guess 10's will only be exclusive to Sony, Nintendo and PC :(

@xantufrog: For me it was not just a responsiveness issue but the lack of game-feel. Fighting feels more like a delicate dance, which is fine but the reception you get from hitting something is so flat that sometimes I can't tell if I have made a connection at all or if I am really having an affect.

Granted, I didn't like this game as much as other folk so take that opinion for what it is; a person who didn't really enjoy the gameplay of The Witcher 3. :P

As far as folklore and attention to detail in the abundance of carefully voiced side-quests, this game is unmatched!

lol what makes you think people comments about the games, "gameplay" has anything to do with the "performance" of the system they are running?

Just a guess but people who praise The Legend of Zelda BOTW's gameplay didn't suddenly say, "Nope never mind! The game is running at, lol 30fps and not masterrace 60fps so the gameplay sucks".

Yeah, I haven't heard that argument for BOTW from anyone and I'm not expecting I will. So I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that the people criticizing TW3's gameplay aren't doing it because of performance (frame rate) but because the actual gameplay itself is underwhelming to mediocre.

Playing anything on consoles comes with a ton of input lag.

More frames = more responsive gameplay.

Consoles also suffer from input lag created by the TV (TVs use frame smoothing and motion blur to make 30 fps look less choppy than it actually is; computer monitors don't).
