lol at the lems in here defending this S***. That's it, I know it was a mistake to try to blindly get an xbone out the gate without seeing how MS was going to handle the system after all they have done in the past. lol, at anyone who preordered this mess all for £62.19 more. Only an idiot would support this mess.

lol at you blindly believing everything you read on system wars

I remember when lemmings said that about xbone being weaker, the prior confirmed DRM and no used games, and 720p...and then when it came out that all of it was true lemmings blindly said they still supported it and hope it becomes standard.

Why even call it blind when if it comes out to be true (like every other rumor that has surfaced about the xbone) you will blindly make excuses for it and act like you were ok with it the whole time?

Why does the PS4 box states "Offline Enabled"?

It is supposed to be enabled by default, and why does it say "Online Optional"? If we all know we can jump or not to online mode. No one needs to tell us that.

This sounds as if Sony did have some DRM planned. How do people here are not wondering about this?

Isn't that because the launch consoles require an update and live isn't ready yet?

If it's not stated in an advertisement then the judge don't care.

It is stated everywhere. Even at xbox.com

This seriously sounds like someone is trying to spread missinformation this close to launch to fool the average Joe. They're hoping for this to spread out and end up on some article where the clueless can read it.

This doesn't smell good to me.

There are people, even here, who are paid to spread misinformation about all 3 consoles. I am sure of it. They would be stupid not to. We've seen 'evidence' of Sony and Microsoft doing this. I can't remember if we've seen something similar from Nintendo though...

I do want to say that with the ME3 lawsuit it was stated that having false information on your product page on the internet does not count as false advertising. I thought that was silly but that's what happened.

Would be sad if true. I was planning on getting an Xbox One next year. That DRM would be a no go for me. Already getting a PS4 at launch.

Anybody that believes the future of gaming will be without DRM, think again. MS is still going to push their direction, by their own admission the only thing they did wrong was their approach and timing, not the policies themselves. I believe Sony will eventually follow suit.

Steam has already proven that a market can be successful with DRM as long as incentive is given. MS knows this. I can pretty much guarantee that some form of DRM will be found in consoles. It's just the way gaming is headed, like it or not.

we know Sony initially had DRM planned. They chose to not implement it after seeing the negative responses to MS' plans.

Nah, I read this in GAF.

Maybe the final patch that removes the DRM is not up yet? There is only speculation, but we should wait for the final patch at launch day before jumping into conclusions.

If one doesn't have internet.....they might want to not buy at launch then. Because if there isn't a patch...they are screwed.

The day one patch removes the DRM issue, if you got your unit early you won't be able to download the day one patch, use some common sense people, jesus.

Common sense tells me you should do your research before gobbing off next time, lol

Microsoft clarifies that the planned day-one Xbox One update, which Whitten told me, will "complete some of the software that won’t be there," is actually not a result of today's DRM policy change. Rather, it was always planned and will simply be required for playing off-line, among other things. Not a patch, they say. But, yes, your new Xbox console would have to connect online once in order to do the things Microsoft described today. And then you can keep it offline and play games without re-connecting to the Internet forever.

@SmileyTown: only a child would use name calling and sexual virginity as a form of response instead of commenting on the issue at hand. Way to show your people your maturity. Maybe next time you can oh I dont't know, refute the claim with facts and intelligence instead of blatant name calling.

I know it´s stupid. No way to minimize that.

All I am saying is to wait to see about the whole DRM speculation.

Both systems will start having restrictive DRM after a while, just wait. It's inevitable

Only difference is the X1 seems to have it standard where PS4 leaves it up to publishers (who will start forcing cos they like money)
