Downloading now 22.88GB windows store to try it out on my PC to see how it runs. Update: it runs solid 60FPS with no dips on my ryzen 1600 GTX 1070 at 4k maxed out with no AA
It's a sweet demo, make sure you run the benchmark tool . I was able to run everything maxed out @4k and for max fps of 62 and average fps of 58 . I like how you're able to tinker with shadows , reflections , etc. so I'll most likely go with 90% high settings and 10% mid

what CPU GPU are you using?

Downloading it now, watching a few shared clips as well and very impressed so far. Was watching someone race at high speed during a thunderstorm. Dynamic Weather is apparently enabled in the demo, at least for the tracks that are supported, and we are getting Nurburgring at least. The sense of speed seems enhanced from F6 and it's like there are more inclinations on the road.....maybe just my imagination, should be able to play it soon. Hopefully the driver customization is well done and not just for gimmicky purposes.
What a coincidence. I've just finished the Final Showcase Event on Forza Horizon 3 a few minutes ago. I think that counts as "beating the game," right? I hope it does. I've just went ahead and marked down a grey B in my Backloggery page, and would look like a total ass if I have go to change it back.
Anyway, I'll give it a spin later.
I have only played it on my secondary work PC (i7 3770K, GTX 1060) so far at max settings 1080p/70fps (OC monitor). It ran at a solid frame rate and had plenty of resources to spare. However, I did detect some micro stutter at times like it was loading in assets. This has me worried as FM6: Apex never fully resolved this issue. Also, I don't know about the exterior view. It seems a little too jumpy for my tastes. I was getting some Need For Speed vibes from it and that is not a good thing. I will try it later tonight when I get home at 4K/60fps with my racing rig.

But does it do wet tracks? I'm downloading it now.

Like wet track's alpha effects, AA hammers both RBE/ROPS and memory bandwidth.
looks amazing on the X1S, supports HDR. A nice step up from F6, feels and sounds great, the roads just feel more realistic with a lot more little inclinations overall it seemed(edit: in the Dubai track particularly)

cool story, ron
@BassMan: lol yeah I was just coming back to tell you that, just found it in the main settings menu, 3 settings. I wasn't sure at first if it was the physical characteristics of the road, it just feels very realistic with lots of ups and downs I thought that was causing the minor camera shake.

Does it use all the cores? FH3 had a problem with that

Yes. My 3770K is 4C/8T and it has threads 1 and 4 pinned at 100% and uses the rest as needed. FH3 was a disaster at launch, but runs perfect for me now.
Played it. Disappointed that it doesn't have a built in frame counter, at least I couldn't find the option. Shadow play's frame counter doesn't work either. Can't run the game with an unlocked framerate. These features were in Apex and I expected them here. Other than that it runs very well even with rain and particle effects and resolution cranked all the way up, which gave my GTX 1070 a real workout with Apex. Quality wise though it looks similar to apex, with a small boost to texture quality. Still drives like Forza so if you enjoy that, then this won't disappoint you.
Titan Xp with 4K 60 fps Ultra.
My Xbox One X can not get her soon enough. LMAO LMAO GT SPORT.
I know this is PC but even Digital Foundry said Forza 7 on X1X was on PC high settings.

Both X1X and PC versions are close.

On what GPU?
4.2 GHz Intel Core i7
64 GB 2400 MHz DDR4.
1080ti
The game sure looks nice! I'm curious to see what framerate I can hit when they remove the 60fps cap and patch out that strange hiccup at the beginning of the benchmark.
i7 5960X (stock for now, gotta move the radiator)
GTX 1080Ti
32GB DDR4 at 2666MHz
4K Highest Settings Benchmark
@drlostrib: I played it at home at 4K/60fps and the frame rate was solid again, but I rarely got the micro stutters with my 7700K. So, there is definitely something up with CPU utilization/multi-threading support. Maxing those threads on my 3770K was not directly affecting the frame rate, but I think it may be contributing to the micro stutters.
On MSI Gaming X 980 Ti at factory 1.37 Ghz (7.7 TFLOPS) overclock mode.
Settings: 4K Max with MSAA 2X
Average FPS: 59.6 fps
Currently downloading FM7 on my other GTX 1080 Ti machine. R9-390X machine following after.
As much as I want to try it I'll wait a little bit longer and play it on my X1X.
Yeah, I think I'll do the same. Can't wait for that Mighty X1X MonsterBox!! :D
Anybody else gets microstutter? I average 59.4fps but it’s because the game always drops to the teens when loading the benchmark which gives me a minimum of 10-15fps. The game tends to lag and stutter when launched and when loading things.
Maxed out 4K/2XMSAA. Even without the MSAA it still stutters.
@Juub1990: The game and bench need a patch. I've turned things down and got the same result. I even ran the benchmark at 4K, all settings at their highest and 150% revolution scale, (6K?) and still got a 59fps average. I have a feeling the benchmark is broken.

It's limited to 60 hz, Watch your GPU utilization. My MSI Gaming X GTX 980 TI wasn't 100 percent utilization.
@skipper847: You can customize the AI Drivatar's behavior to use aggressive tactics or not. I haven't tried it but it's nice to have the option.
Downloaded and played. Runs very well with everything on High and MSAA off on my i7 3770 + GTX 970. A bit of stuttering here and there, but overall quite pleased with the performance.
Car handling feels a bit heavier and stiffer than I'm used to, and there might be a bug that's affecting the responsiveness of my Bluetooth Xbox One controller. Still, overall, I enjoyed my experience, and still have this marked down as a Certainty to buy.
Still way too pricey for me, though, and again, this September/October period is a very bad time to be releasing games if they want me to buy them. I'll wait for sale like I did with FH3.
