For what reason would you buy a Switch?

So for those who have not adopted the NS yet, are there any concrete reasons that you would pick one up?

For me it would definitely be if or when they finally add the Virtual Console, as soon as that dropped I would rush to the store to get one.

More games , and cheaper pices across the board.Zelda + Bayonetta 2 (and 3 eventually) would be a start , but not enough. Maybe Metroid would be a 4th big game? Only time will tell.

When it drops to $99

They have the best first party games, and it's not even close.

I also like being overcharged.

When I see a game that I need to have and that can't be played in another platform.

Portability was the reason I got it.

The amazing library of games it managed to build in merely nine months is what got me to stay.

I couldn't care less about Nintendo games. Even if I got a Switch I would not get Super Mario Odyssey and I'd think about Breath of the Wild.

However, Pokemon, SMT5 and Bayonetta 3 have already been announced for the Switch.

So my reason to buy a Switch is the same as every consoles, so I can play exclusives when they eventually come ou.

You make a hell of a point. Nintendo is retarded for not releasing the Virtual Console and really just expanding it beyond anything in the past. I also want to see a lot more ports from the best Wii U games. I also want multiplat games such as GTA 5 and even Read Dead Redemption and just everything that is even remotely worthwhile that can be ported to the system.

Having said that, Zelda and Mario alone are enough reason to run not walk to get the system right now.

There is no reason to buy a switch. It has NO games. The console itself is terrible for too many reasons to list.

After playing one, I would buy it after a price drop. After playing Zelda (which is a great game) there's nothing else that I'm itching to buy the console for right now. It's not a good platform for current third party gaming. But there are, and it will get, exclusives I'd like to play at least.

If you could just buy the classic games you want, how would they sell the mini nes, mini snes, mini n64, etc.? I'm thinking we're in for a bit of a wait for the virtual console...

A single game that I want. Also a d-pad, I require one of those.

If I had extra money right now for a new console, I'd invest it in the New 3DS.

@henrythefifth: Great exclusives and portability are two pretty huge reasons.

The New 3DS is also a great option for its back-catalogue, but I suspect the 3DS (and Vita) developers are going are start jumping over to the Switch pretty soon.

Because it is a bad ass system that allows me to take it mobile! It also has some bad ass exclusives to play on it. Pretty simple to be honest!

The only way I would buy one is for the following reasons.

1) It's real cheap

2) If my sons 3DS XL shits itself.

3) It would only ever get used by my kids when on long car trips.

So basically the thing is useless for me, and if the 3DS did shit itself I would consider buying another one of those first.

I will buy one when Bayonetta 3 comes out.

If Metroid Prime 4 is on par with BOTW and Odyssey in terms of quality, I'm going to have a hard time saying no to buying one.

Zelda and Metroid. I already bought it... Aside from those two games I don't think I'll be getting much for it. Not a fan of platformers so Odyssey doesn't do much for me at full price. I might be picking up Rocket League and other arcade like games for it.

For the Pokemon game that is planned to release.

Only if my life consisted of nothing but VG for me would I also want to play them on the go. :P

I'm a PC gamer but I also own a Switch. I got it for the exclusives, obviously. Nintendo exclusives were the only thing missing from my gaming life when I switched exclusively to PC over a decade ago. Glad they finally released another console worth buying.

Mario and Zelda. I would play those and maybe another few titles but that would be it. And then it would just sit there.... unused...

I got one for the games. I've put 60 hours into Xeno 2 already. I've yet to play through Zelda on the Switch, but i played on WiiU, so i'll be playing that next.

It would need to drastically drop in price for me to consider one. It's way too overpriced.

Bayonetta 2 and 3

None of the other games interest me in the slightest. I mean, if I had one I would probably try BotW and SMO just to see whats all the fuss about but Bayonetta is all that I really wanted to play. Maybe when it's 199€ I'll buy one, depending on my financial situation and how is its support by that time

The same reason for the last 2 decades. Mario and Zelda. And when you are finished with those you can look forward to Mario and Zelda. What's even better is that when they release a new console you can look for newer games like Mario and Zelda.

The number one reason I'd buy one: my son. I definitely would play it, too. But I know that he would go ape if I go him one. Aiming for Spring or Summer 2018.

I thought long and hard about this. I would have to have a decent pile of cash lying around, and the Switch would have to offer me an experience which is special and unique to the console which I really, really want. In the same way Soulcalibur II once seriously tempted me to buy a PS2.

Which is highly unlikely. I played Soulcalibur II when I was a much more serious gamer than I am now. These days, the closest I've come to buying a console is the occasional game that looked intriguing enough to make me half-seriously entertain getting a console for it. The latest one of these is Horizon: Zero Dawn. But as I said, it was only a half-serious thought - I was never close to pulling the trigger. Maybe if it came out in the early 2000s...

It's loaded with great games... Cant think of a console that had more great games in its first year than switch.

I'm already sold on the thing as far as games are concerned, but I'm waiting to see if they do periodic hardware revisions like with their handhelds. Kind of hoping for a model with a bigger hard drive and better battery.
