Serious question? Nintendo.
MS has Halo and Gears, but I could easily live without them if I had to, and I can't think of a single Sony exclusive that I have ever cared about.

Pikmin is dead until Wii U, Earthbound is dead, Star Fox is dead, F-Zero is dead, Wave Race is dead, Advance Wars is dead. Why are you including all of these franchises from Nintendo which haven't seen new entries in over half a decade? It makes about as much sense as including Tomba for Sony.
By comparison, all of the franchises you listed for Sony are new this generation or had new entries this generation. It skews the poll like nobody's business, although the Nintendo fanboys usually do that just fine without biasing it further.
Anyway, for my money Sony has a larger and more varied first-party portfolio than either Microsoft or Nintendo and I don't think the first is at all in doubt.

That doesn't even make sense. If a game is being developed it looks pretty alive to me :?
I see what you're trying to do, but if we only include relevant first-party Sony wins. So, the three console manufacturers have been in the industry for quite a while now, and each have managed to build up an impressive arsenal of franchises. Advance Wars: Dual Strike (2005) and Advance Wars Days of Ruin (2008)
Star Fox Command (2006) and Star Fox 64 3D (2011)
Thank you for the correction on Advance Wars as I had not heard of those. Star Fox is almost certainly dead though and no re-releasing Star Fox 64 again doesn't count. Star Fox Command sold horribly and Star Fox 64 3D sold poorly as well, it was understood based off of some things Miyamoto said that when Star Fox 64 3D was being released that its sales would determine whether the franchise had a future and it didn't sell well.
So it's dead Jim. Keep in mind I played the original Star Fox on release and played Star Fox 64 more than anything else on Nintendo 64, I'm not exactly rejoicing over here about it.
That doesn't even make sense. If a game is being developed it looks pretty alive to me :?

Pikmin has not had new a game since 2004, it simply isn't relevant in the comparison.
EDIT: BTW OP, you're missing MLB: The Show. While I'm not much of one for sports franchises, or baseball at all, it's a critically acclaimed series and has good sales.

Good call on The Show. You're a good poster, btw. You write some good stuff.

Thanks, same goes to you. Also, thinking of another one SingStar would make sense to include on the list for Sony. It's big in Europe, even if it isn't particularly popular in the U.S.

I knew I was forgetting something. How could I have forgotten Singstar, I play it so much!Adding only relevant, active franchises. Which means I should put in Syphon Filter for Sony, maybe, but nothing else for any of the others (I mean, otherwise, stuff like The Legendary Starfy, Disaster, Doshin The Giant, Wario, Yoshi, 1080 etc would be there for Nintendo)charizard1605
I'd say Syphon Filter doesn't belong on there as it has no entry on PS3 or Vita and there doesn't look to be any coming down the line either (some rumors aside).
Nintendo > Sony >>>> Microsoft
If Microsoft would just rejuvenate some of its owned franchises (or invest in new ones), it would be more in line with Sony.

Defined by releases in the last decade (which is why stuff like Jak and Daxter and Sly got on there). Pikmin is a stretch, I know, but isn't the new game coming this year? Also, how major is Siren? how major is pilotwings? lol..
cant exclude it on popularity :P
and if you ARE including games released in the last decade then u must include ape escape, buzz and syphon filter ;)

Yea, I forgot about those :P Adding them now. There is no competition here for Nintendo. Their first party calibur is still leagues ahead of the other two. As far as I'm concerned the other two don't even have a first party. I think the only non-nintendo first party games I actually liked this gen were inFAMOUS 1 and 2...
Nintendo has developed many of my favorite games and completely avoided the cinematic cover based shooter plague. Therefore they are the best of the 3.
But Sony still has a great stable of first party developers and are pretty close to Nintendo. As for MS, they are nowhere near as good as Sony or Ninty but they still do more than they are given credit for.
Well as much as I like the first party Sony games, I would probably pick Nintendo. Since the only reason why i bought a wii was to play them.
You missed Gears of War.
Nintendo and Sony win though despite GeoW being awesome.freedomfreak
Gears isn't exactly a first party franchise.
Oh..I was thinking more exclusive.Gears isn't exactly a first party franchise.

True, Epic owns the franchise, but Microsoft still has exclusivity rights for the first three games.
You put them in the precise order in which they shoul go. From best to worst.
1. Nintendo
2. Sony
3. Microsoft
Of course between Sony and Microsoft they'll be lots of arguments about them. Nintendo owns both of them anyways.
