I very much enjoyed FFX, and I feel bad for those who couldn't or chose not too. Same goes for those who hate on Halo and the Call of Duty franchise. Way too many people to feel bad for :(

FFX is a good game, but I don't think its the best game of the decade. For example, objectively, Xenosaga II has better gameplay (even if people love to hate it because the battles are long).

Gamefaqs is almost as bad as Gamespot. The only difference is that gamefaqs got some intelligent people. Not much but more then Gamespot.

Anyway Gamefaqs is filled with FF fanboys. Of course a FF game will win. FFX is a great game but I prefer RE4.

Let's take this one further: FFX isn't even an RPG. It's a glorified turn-based strategy game with mild (and I mean REALLY mild) exploration aspects. If we are to look at the game from that point of view, the strategy is shallow, the exploration aspects are almost non-existent, the encounter rate is extremely high, and the cutscenes are unskippable. If you like the game for its battle system, go play a more complex strategy game like Civilization IV, or hell, the latest Fire Emblem. If you like the game for its exploration aspects, go buy Grand Theft Auto III. If you like the game's story enough to not mind the unskippable cutscenes, you should probably watch the cutscenes on Youtube, or better yet, go to your local movie rental store and pick up something decent.

Every aspect of Final Fantasy X -- "game of the decade" -- can be bested in every way by other games released in THIS decade. Isn't that sad?

Cool, now I have another reason to never visit Gamefaqs.

here in GS, there are 2 teams, high Lv posters and low/mid Lv posters. Usually the 2nd team loves the most popular games, and they constitue the large slice of gamers, while the high Lv posters love old classics and sometimes unknown games ......... it's pretty much obvious that most of the high Lv posters dun see FFX as a game of the decade, they see it as a medicore RPG at best. Again, the majority rules, wanna make sure, make a poll here in GS and FFX may win again.

Were all but two of those games Japanese by any chance? :P
