They're remaking Crisis Core, I was hoping for this ever since I heard of the Remake and it is finally happening. I am very happy and cannot wait to play it again. I still have the original!

From what he was telling Aerith, is this saying that the Remake exists in an alternate timeline and the events of the original game still happened? 2. Since they are Remaking the FF7 Compilation, is it possible that they may adapt Advent Children as part of the game series?

I'm so glad they're remaking Crisis Core! I really liked that game, and thought it was underrated. The story was very engaging, but the combat system could've used some improvement... Now that it's getting the FF7 Remake treatment, the combat system should be great this time around. Also, I hope they improve the writing for Genesis, because he was a fairly dull antagonist in the original Crisis Core.

1. Yes. The original game and Advent Children happened but in Remake only Aerith and Sephiroth know that for the large majority of the game.

2. I'd highly doubt it but you never know.

@Jag85: I think the Genesis issue is mainly because it seemed to go into a different direction with Angeal and the experiments and then near the end or halfway into the game, Genesis all of a sudden has a major importance out of nowhere.

Some of the parts in AC would be cool to play like the motorcycle parts and the Sephiroth fight.

His motives didn't really make sense, and he was just a forgettable villain overall. He was like a poundland Sephiroth. Yet Crisis Core still had a very good story despite the forgettable antagonist... Zack carried the story on his shoulders.

It's not completely explained. There's a ton of theories about it though. The last 2 hours of the game or so there is a lot of info dumps that flip the game on it's head, essentially you can look at remake as a sequel.

I guess his motives are basically like a diet Sephiroth. I don't mind him being the main villain, but I do agree that his placement is very minute in the beginning since much of the story revolved around Angeal and the experiments and it seemed like he was just one of the few or the influencer of the soldiers like Angeal going rogue, to all of a sudden being a big part near the end. I rather it focused on the guy who made Angeal since much of the story revolved around him for a good chunk of the game. Outside of that, Crisis Core was a great game and I still feel it deserves to be played by more. It was a heavily emotional experience.

@fedor: I actually like that. It somehow keeps the original story but is allowed to breathe and go its own way.

According to most sources, they will adapt the Advent Children movie as well as the pre smart phone mobile only FF: Before Crisis.

But most likely it depends on audience response to the first title in the compilation. This is a free 2 play game with mtx after all.

A lot of Xbox fans on Twitter seemed pretty let down the chance they might see FF7 remake get ported to Xbox consoles passed by. Square Enix appears committed to keeping FF games PS-only for the time being. Great timing by Sega/Atlus to finally put Persona games on Xbox.

@sakaixx: I really hope we get Advent Children, it is something I really want more so than Crisis Core. Before Crisis would be cool, but definitely Advent Children.

Maybe Season 3 will be delayed. LOL Anyway, nothing on Xbox regarding new AAA games till 2023. LOL

PlayStation is getting a heavy dose of Final Fantasy next year. It's good to see.

It is pretty crazy that we’re getting Crisis Core Remake, then Final Fantasy 16, and then FF7 Remake Part 2 all in one year!

Do they? Why does it say "next" winter and not "this" winter? If it was coming this year, wouldn't they have started the marketing campaign this time last year?

Usually for movies, games and other media, they say "coming this winter" right?
